Disingenuous? yes. Against any site rule? no. I agree your profile photo should be of you or something innocuous like a cartoon character, but that would be impossible to maintain. The easier solution that I've recommended for years is read only unless certified and paid. (and now I'm limiting it to paid. I use say one or the other, but now believe it should be both). I would still allow an exception for longtime members that have shown they are legitimate and provide engage and useful information. John aka cobeachbum

John aka cobeachbum[/quote] Doesn't surprise me and that's why the only way we are going to improve things is if we start behaving as if this is a community and taking positive action as members of the community, for the good of the community. This thread, whilst it might be quite cathartic for people to flag fakes doesn't actually achieve that much. How many people are going to trawl through here to check if a user has been flagged before engaging in conversation with them? When I encountered a fake in the chatroom that was using a porn model's images and pretending that they were their own, I contacted every user that had liked their profile, and/or profile image, or friended them, and made them aware that the images were fake. Furthermore I politely asked them to remove any likes and unfriend them, so as not to encourage the behaviour. It was only a matter of days before the fake profile was gone What that does is it raises awareness amongst those naive users that expect everyone to be who they say they are. Trouble is it takes a bit more effort and community spirit than just adding another item to this thread

  It is quite interesting. I followed through on one of the fakes. They all have the same script. First they will send an email link. Claiming it easier to chat on there. Then they will offere to come and meet. They need to find the air fare. Then I have found the sheet for the air fare. Could I send it to you so you can tell me its OK. That is the gotcha step to getting your email address. And so it goes. Just flag them.

There are other types of fake... The divorced bisexual single mom (its amazing how this demographic isn't reflected in the real world nudist community). There are many of these type. Always try to steer the chat towards their children. Clearly these are perverse males sitting behind these profiles The male that masquerades as female due to an insecure childhood. He wants to check if other males had the same experiences as him growing up in terms of their sexuality. A nudist platform is an easy target for this. He does this from behind the cover of a female profile. I feel quite sorry for these Those that obtain images from the internet and claim them to be their own, in order to live out whatever fantasy they have The bots that are purely computer generated I'm sure there are more types, but these are the main ones

  Once certified, you can post pictures of anyone. There is no rule against it (maybe unenforced laws, but no TN rule).

[/quote] While you're not wrong, that very fact demonstrates the complete disconnect between standards and enforcement. In the chatroom, for example, I have seen people regularly get booted/banned for posting a pic of their significant other. Mods will straight up state "if it's not you, you can't post it".

An opportunity to raise awareness of a recent fake profile
