  I lived in a small town when young. As young as 12 or 13 I would enjoy walking out into the woods and stripping, feeling the air on my body, nothing but nature around me. I had to dress up as an indian once as part of a camping trip game and loved the feeling of walking around in nothing but a loin cloth. A friends mother was upset when she saw me and made me get some clothes on. I didn't think anything of it at the time.

  but in the 80's and 90's they went by colonies? i think you meant in the 20's and 30's. pretty sure they weren't refered to as colonies 20 - 30 years ago.

  I was 15 when I had my first nudist experience. I had just got done taking my morning shower. My mother was walking toward my bedroom & I had the door open. She saw me standing there naked & I was very comfortable with it . She just smiled & said "Oops." I told her it was ok & I didn't mind. From then on I was very comfortable going around naked, even in the back yard.

  Kindergarten under the hose on a hot summer's day;  mothers were present so there was nothing devious about it, and back in those days such things took place innocently; what a sad world we have become - i was about four years old and loved it! And i thank God for the wisdom of that lady who taught that the human body was nothing to be ashamed of, and that nakedness in a safe environment is healthy at all ages!

  As I get older and have more opportunity to be naked I just do it. I started searching out beaches, resorts, groups and now I participate as much as I can. I started making friends who are also nudists and now have more opportunity to just hang out nude with them.

  13 years old, beleive it or not.  One night I had the random urge to sleep sans pajamas.  Now, as a rule of thumb, I'm naked whenever possible.

  52 !   Should have started earlier !    Actually from 45 to 52, I would tan nude in a secluded spot at my acreage.  My 1st socially nude setting was Wreck Beach in Vancouver about 10 years ago.  I now belong to a Local Resort.

  I was about 14 when I first discovered my dad's copies of "Sunshine and Health" hidden away in the attic when I discovered that such a lifestyle existed. I had already snuck off into a wooded area near my home to experience for the first time the freedom of being naked outdoors. It wasn't until I was 19 when I moved away from home into an apartment near school alone that I became a full-time home nudist. I didn't go to a nude resort until I was 29.

I remember then thinking that was neat that people could run around outside naked. When I was 11 or 12 my friend and I would dare each other to run around his house after dark in the nude. Started skinny dipping in the local creek when I was about 14. Started sleeping in the nude when away at collage one summer when I didn't have a roommate at 20 and have been sleeping that way ever since.

  Well, besides skinny dipping since I was 8 or so at home and at camp, I went full nudist when I was forty. I figured it was easier than buying a sports car, heh.

  [/quote]I don't know exactly how old I was, but I was in my mid-to-early 40s.  I had been spending more and more time comfortable and nude since beginning to do so as a child, and then I started a non-landed group here in the Texas Panhandle as well as joined a Christian nudists group.  Through the fellowship I had in them, I learned more about the lifestyle and philosophies around it, and I came to agree despite what others in the groups did, actually, instead of them convincing me through arm twisting and criticism.
