Just wondering... how many people here answer the door naked? Now, I do, if I know it's a friend coming over, but usually don't for FedEx, or that kinda thing. Just wondering what you guys do, and the reaction you get.

PhilfreeeukOct 19, 2008Being a fully paid up member of the ....."Stony Broke, Tight Fisted, Environmentally Friendly, Animal Loving, Agnostic Vegetarian, Grumpy Old Pessimistic Hermits Society" ......I don't allow anyone to knock on MY door, but if anyone should dare to ignore the sigh that says "Door to Door Sales, Please DON'T Ring" or a neighbour (yes that IS the correct way to spell neighbour!) should require my attention, whilst I'm enjoying the freedom of my naked state, I just answer the door, stand behind it and put my head round, and either speak to them there, invite them in or ask them to hang on while I get a robe, depending on who it is. :) .......easy! Life is hard and then you die! .....live naked! .....die happy!

gabareNov 21, 2008I have a few times , try to keep a coverup near by but sometimes I forget, when I walk to mailbox in warm weather I usually have on a long tee shirt or my robe which is pretty thin, mail lady and a few neighbors have caught me nude

The other day my neighbor stopped in front of my mailbox, I figured she got my mail and was putting it in my box, a minute later she was ringing the doorbell I was wearing a tee shirt but was bottomless, when I attempted to open the screen door I became exposed a little , we talked about five minutes and she was on her way, I know she has probably seen me nude off the back porch and has said nothing so I guess she is OK with my brief nude encounter.

I have, I was getting out of the shower and as I went thru the living room, I realized someone was looking at me thru the front door, and they started knocking. I knew she could see i was nude so I opened the door and let her in. She was trying to sell siding , doors and windows, dropped all her paperwork when she came in and started apologizing. She wasn't sure I was nude, but didn't thinnk I would have let her in if I was. I showed her my AANR membership plaques and told her if she was uncomfortable I'd get dressed. She told me she'd be back later, haven't seen anybody yet.
The other time was when the Mormons came by, I don't see them around anymore either. :DReactReply - PA
PALeighDec 29, 2008We haven't done that yet either, not sure we could and not sure I should if the person on the other end of door isn't aware of the situation. I guess regardless of how we choose to be in our own house we can't force it on them IMHO.

Today I was on the couch watching tv when someone knocked on the door my wife went to get some bottoms on but since I had a tee shirt on but was also bottomless I went and answered the door, needless to say it was my mom so I let her in since i'm sure she has seen me nude a million times before, I sure she saw my penis as she came in and my butt as she walked followed me into the living room but said nothing about it since she knows i'm a nudist. We visited awhile and than she left, afterwards I wondered if I would be as comfortable nude in front of my mother-in-law.

I decided to start 2009 being nude when possible and as much as possible, I know going to the mailbox or in public is a no no, but in my house or part of the backyard and secluded areas- rivers, trails, lakes etc. I will.

DavidJan 2, 2009When I was single, with no kids in the house, I was nude almost all the time. Most of my friends knew that if they chose to come over unnanounced, I'd be nude. Those that didn't want me to answer the door nude for them learned to call first, and I learned to put on some sort of cover if they were coming over. I had never actually answered the door nude for the mailman or the Jehova's Witnesses or anything - I figured that since they didnt knwo me, it would be rude or scary for them. Now, my wife is not so accepting of nudity around the kids, so I'm always dressed, unless at the nude beach or some other nude venue.

Kinda off topic, but we have a large deck and pool in our yard. Neighbors will often come to swim. They come in from the back gate and find us laying around or swimming. Some will strip down and join us. Some will stay clothed. None really care thar we are running around our yard naked. After all, it's our yard.....ReactReply - TI

I knew that a lady friend was coming over and answered the door aunaturel just for the experience. It really turned out to be no big dea. I had given her a full body massage a couple times and even had a couple chess games afterwards.

George_in_WVApr 10, 2009When I was living in MA I always covered up (or was dressed) when I opened my apartment door because it opened into a fairly public hallway. I now live in a clothing optional community and, because I am now nude all the time here, I usually answer the door nude. UPS, FEDEX, and other delivery services know that this is a nudist resort and finding people nude here is not unusual. Most of my neighbors are nude themselves. Of course if one of my neighbors comes to the door they are no more surprised when I answer the door nude than I am when I open the door and see them nude. That is the way we live around here.

CanoodlerApr 10, 2009My computer is right by the front door and I was NIFOC one day when the local politician came a-callin! He could already see me through the door, but the back of the chair covers me entirely. Luckily, I have an indoor window (no glass) by the door so I just walked up to it and reached the door handle from there and opened it so he could only see me from the stomach up. We had a full conversation and shook hands as he left and I'm sure he knew but at least he didn't have to get squeamish or me apologize. It was cool. I do need to get a front door curtain tho!

I oftem would answer the door nude whenever my Gf was coming over to visitme, and she seemed to enjoy that. The one incident which I really remember is when a carload of bible thumpers came up the street and started going door to door. I opened the door to see a rather older lady in front of me asking me if I wanted an invitation to some church function, but when she saw me, the words died on her lips! I told her I didn't think the invitation was for me....and she beat a hasty retreat....got back into the car, and they ALL left the neighbourhood! Hope my neighbours realize what a service I did for them. I still laugh at the thought of the look on her face, and they have not returned ever. Life got better!

AMay 11, 2009Sometimes when expecting a friend to drop by have opened a door in birthday suit without looking through the spyhole first and there been someone totally different. Also some occasions expected smth urgent, like registered mail or courier parcel and had nothing handy quick enough to make sure the one ringing the doorbell wouldn't move on, I have opened the door nude. Mostly do grab a robe around before answering the doorbell. As I take it is more comfortable to everyone involved if a stranger in question, with friends again I know who has which attitudes so I don't have to much think about it. On the other hand here people relaxed enough not to bother or be shocked if someone opens nude, so mostly those few times I have opened nude to a stranger have resulted in various reactions between slight amazement and amused smile.
Not a serious issue, either way.

ThighMasterMay 11, 2009Back in the day, I was selling GRIT newspapers door to door and knocked and had someone (a guy) open the door on me while they were nude. Even though I was raised in a somewhat nude household, it was still quite the surprise. He told me that they were nude most of the time during the summer and as I looked past him, I could see that his wife and children were also nude.
They turned out to be great customers, but I never saw them naked again.

One instance I confided to a female co-worker that I am a nudist and quite often I'm naked around home, she was quite interested as to how it felt and what I did when people came to visit. I told her I had a bathrobe handy to answer the door but if I knew the person I just opened and stood behind the door so the person could come in. She seemed quite comfortable with that. So some time later she did come around and rang on the bell downstairs I let her into the block and when she got to my door I opened up completely naked, she didn't bat an eyelid, she came in and sat down. We chatted for awhile and had coffee. So it was not a problem. She often comes around and the wife and I never bother to dress for her.

johnwsligerApr 26, 2010You sound like us, we live in a 60+ low-income complex. I have a grey, flannel-like robe I wear when it is too cold to be naked. About our third night here, our next door neighbor came over and didn't react or anthing to the robe. Another afternoon, she came over and neither of us were in the front room and I had neglected to lock the front door. She just came on in. I was in my robe but.. We told her we were nudists and, again she didn't react. Another day, one of the other neighbors knocked on the door and I answered it in my robe. She took a step back, put her hand over her mouth, and said "Oh my!" My wife, our next door neighbor, and I still laugh about that one.
