JackNeilsonSep 4, 2010Kingston Ontario Canada18c = 64f partly cloudy with showers forecast for this afternoon and tomorrow. Although over 1,000 miles from us as it nears Atlantic Canada, Hurricane Earl has the effect of slowing our normal weather process from west to east making forecasting for this area very imprecise. As it weakens/moves off our weather pattern changes and resumes. Earl has been downgraded to a category one hurricane and the effect on our weather pattern is already becoming noticeable so we may get showers and clearing earlier than forecast.ReactReply - JA
JackNeilsonSep 4, 2010As of noon Earl has been downgraded to a tropical storm and our weather patterns are returning to normal. It appears that downed trees, power outages and some flooding occurred as the storm passed through but no deaths or serious injuries.

M_JimmieM_MSep 5, 2010
Started out pefectly clear, in the upper 60s. When a Saturday begins like that, there is only one thing to do. Unfortunately, after 12:30, it went to total overcast. Two hours of hoping later, it was time to admit defeat and leave. Oh well, there are a few weeks left.
Sounds loike most of the summer here on the coast this year...ReactReply - M_

PhilfreeeukOriginal PosterSep 11, 2010Can't believe that yet another "so so" summer has rushed by. The last three weeks have not been great, luke warm with decidedly chilly bits, even had to put on a robe indoors at times. I am already having to fight off the first symptoms of the old S.A.D. (Seasonal Affected Disorder) Didn't get much naked time out in the countryside, all in all, another very disappointing summer. Oh, for the record, sunny spells again to day, quite windy, but at least it's mild.
