I realize we just went thru a server upgrade here but it all seems to be worse.. It is very slow and sometimes even unresponsive when comparing them to other sites I am on. And I say that just to let the powers that be know it's not just my internets services.
So, Is I the only one with an issue?

Curt, or CowboyMar 10, 2011
maybe I have missed it, but it looks like there has only been a change to a new server-no platform improvements. For example, on the forums, it would be nice to have a "last page" button.
There is a last page button. Bottom right. It's the double right arrow. ( can't do an example, as the page removes it from the post ) Doesn't always work from page 1.ReactReply - PE
PeteyBOriginal PosterMar 10, 2011
this site seems to be a the same, with some upgrades (woohoo), anyways..... some, few, basic computer tips would allow you to have faster speed on your end: 1. if your feel your CPU is getting slow, reset the memory by restarting your CPU, this will wipe the slate clean by losing all the built up data it has stored. 2. dont have too many programs opened up on your CPU. this will only make the CPU work harder and longer. 3. always defrag your hard drive, especially after deleting programs or large files. i recommend defraging monthly or bi-weekly 4. turn off the remote setting's in your CPU, especially if your sharing your music or something else on-line, having this open will enable your CPU over do its memory w/o you even knowing it, memory is being used by somebody else and who knows how many programs they have opened up on thier end and lessing your performance. 5. always have the latest anti-virus and update it frequently, hopefully this helps, a bit off target from the original post, but, i couldnt help offering other helpfull tips
Well thanks.. but if any of these were the problem it would also show up on other sites I am perusing..which is why i mentioned this is the only site now that I have any kinds of issues at all. I just mentioned it in hopes the owners will take a look at it.. And how many different kinds of snow are there.. ? My only issue with snow is it's always cold when it snows.. which.. is why I live in Florida.. and am not really sure what snow looks like anymore.ReactReply - PE

piercex2Mar 11, 2011I thought this site just did an upgrade? This is why I refuse to become a paid member of this site. Maybe the administrators need to shut the site down completely for a few days and upgrade it!!

greg1792Mar 11, 2011It is just not you! Really I think this gets slower every day!

Yes, it is very slow and getting into chat has been very difficult. There are issues tht have appeared since the upgrade, or the upgrade is still in progress.

Curt, or CowboyMar 11, 2011

Yes, Curt. I have tried that-maybe always from the 1st page-and more often than not, it takes me to the top of a page after the last thread with no way to go back one page.
Look at the end of the address bar. Should be the page number. ( on any page except the first ) Reduce it by one and hit enter.ReactReply - CO
Curt, or CowboyMar 11, 2011It took longer to make that post than any I've ever made, except when the site totally crashes.
Yes, it's noticably slower.ReactReply - CH
ChuckMar 11, 2011Seems to take longer now, but it might just be because of the locations that I'm in when I park my rig. Haven't been home to Houston to see how it works on the wireless router yet.

Cheri Donna DawsonMar 11, 2011I have a brand spanking new computer (a full system virus scan takes only a couple of hours). and this site does seem to be slower than it had been. My computer at my regular office is ancient and the pages do load slowly, more so now than in past weeks.

jasonMar 11, 2011i saw a glacier go by while i was waiting for my last post to go thru. if you are going back it seems to go just fine. maybe one of the computer geeks can find a way to go thru th esite backwards.

jaffo59Mar 11, 2011If the upgrades have been completed that was a complete waste; the site is slower than it was before the upgrades began.

jasonMar 15, 2011today was the second time i got logged out because it took so long for a page to load. if you get logged out due to the slowness of the site, there are more issues to fix.

Curt, or CowboyMar 15, 2011It's obvious to me that the system is "at capacity."
It's occasionally as quick as it was, but usually not.ReactReply - TE
TerryMar 15, 2011I certainly don't want to be one to complain about a wonderful gift like this site since I've met new friends and had loads of fun in chat. However...compared to other sites I visit its like dial up here. I literally have to wait multiple minutes for some pages to show. The Net just loads and loads and loads. Especially with some people's profiles. Its like something gets stuck and the servers can't load the info. I have noticed different time of the day have different load time, too.

gabareMar 15, 2011hey at least it happened as spring approaches for alot of us, time to get out in the great outdoors fishing, kayaking, mtn biking, hiking and enjoying the view GOD gives us each day only warmer...

DesertRatMar 15, 2011Yes, I thought it was a lot slower but, being a computer illiterate, I thought that I was doing something wrong. I don't want to complain too much about the speed because this is such a great site. I've met a lot of friends here and have enjoyed the Forum tremendously. It seems like a lot of members are computer experts. Maybe they could contact TT1 and discuss and suggest possible upgrades. You'd be doing all of us a great service. Possibly the "experts" could start a thread with ideas for making this site more user friendly. Hey, go for it guys!
