Sometimes, I like to sneak out in the middle of the night like 1-2 am in the morning walking down the streets naked while it's dark and everyone else is asleep.

    1. I never dismissed manufacturing. I indicated that it was irrelevant to the argument as to what type of energy is used to run the device.

    2. Both coal power stations and wind farms regulate how much power they output due to the needs of the grid at any specific time. Peak, daytime. Off peak, night time.

Its easy to produce electricity but not so easy to store it, so it gets used as needed. Therefore a static wind turbine does not mean its broken or a waste of space.. it means we dont need as much electricity at that particular moment in time.

Its the same for coal. A coal power station might only run at 10% capacity at night.

Not denying the benefits and need for clean renewable energy. But there is a lot of hype masking some of the realties. Eg here in the UK wind generators in the north often get turned off because they are generating too much. Because the grid cant get the power to where it is needed. So although, in theory, the country could be 100% renewable powered they are still running gas generators in other read to cover the demand.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will repeat this is funny in a stupid way. The wind mills are turned off because the grid isnt engineered properly. Thats not the windmills fault its the dumb ass who designed the system to work.

    Now understand my point?

I also believe some of your other points are weak also. It takes energy to mine coal and oil, and it still is transported by carbon. Now how it gets the name renewable. You keep burning more over and over to fill your need. Once a renewable is set in place it keeps working for 20 to 30 years. No con going on, people who want fresh air and clean water for future generations.

I was completely wrong on that, and now that youve pointed out that its all the fault of some dumb ass engineer, Ill be writing to my MP demanding they hire a better one.

Build a power plant without have away to deliver it? How did they pick the size? Guessing how much power wont be used? I know way to much about the grid and how substations are set up. They are based on maximum production when it comes to renewables! Yes it either was a stupid comment, or a piss poorly engendered cluster F.

Talk all day on your subject, but when you meet someone who knows more, then that day becomes a listening day. Im listening now. You obviously have a far more nuanced knowledge of this than I or any of those so called electrical engineers. Thank you for your insight .

Ive just read a report from The National Grid UK

Wind and solar are producing %77.1

    Fossil (gas) is at %3.6

The remains % is split between nuclear biomass and hydro.

Looks like those electrical engineers are not as dumb as we thought, eh?
He posted this some time ago before gas prices skyrocketed.Solar depends on massive government subsidies to compete. The amount of carbon dioxide emissions saved by electric vehicles depends on the source of electricity. If it is heavily coal based, electric vehicles actually result in an increase in CO2 emissions. From Google. Solar energy no longer depends on "massive" government subsidies to exist, as falling technology costs have made it economically competitive in many regions. However, it still benefits significantly from government support to speed up deployment and reduce upfront costs, particularly in residential settings. Any electrical device that gets its energy from coal powered electric generators will have a carbon footprint. Any electrical device that runs on renewables has zero carbon footprint. Its that simple,
The odd thing is that China is the world's leader in electric vehicles but gets the majority of its electric generation by coal. Under those circumstances, electric vehicles may have a greater carbon footprint than gasoline powered cars.

It as if you just make shit up to increase your post count. A simple Google search ,1st article page one reveals this Clean Energy Growth: Wind and solar combined generated over a quarter of China's electricity in early 2026, with solar capacity increasing by 45% to 887 GW by end-of-2024. Thats almost half from renewable and they lead the world in development and use of renewable tech too.

Hello Friend. I TOO, ENJOY being naked late at night, (or most anywhere I can get away with it at), and like you, I enjoy riding my bike, late at night, on this paved walking trail, that is considered closed after dark, and also, like you, I have run into others naked! Maybe we use the same park??? IF SO....we may run up on each other sometime.

I live on a busy through street so walking there nude at night would not be possible.
A neighbor who lives around the corner on a lightly traveled street mentioned that she has occasionally seen someone walking nude in the pre dawn hours.
Maybe I should try it sometime.
