We started a small conversation about old school cartoon, and it was interesting to hear so many of them that i havent heard in such a long time, so i thought this would be fun, What was you favorite cartoon as a child?

Seriously, I cried after the episode when Optimus Prime sacrifriced his life in Unicron's dismembered head.... :(

Woody Woodpecker - my dad even had some of those for his 8mm projector.
As I grew a bit older, I enjoyed Smurfs. My husband enjoyed/enjoys roadrunner - anyone for Ace manufacturing?!! LOL

Have to say G.I. Joe, then Scooby Doo. Saturday morning cartoons was one of the highlights for the weekend as a kid. Recently I woke around what used to be primetime for Saturday moring cartoons(8am). Since I was up I decided to see what kids watch these days. To my surprise they didn't really have any cartroons on the basic tv channels. You had to go to the higher # channels to find any. I remember as kid, that 4 basic channels would have cartoons running at the sametime from 6am-11am.

wow they were all great but i guess roadrunner, than popeye with whimy asking for a burger. isn't it amazing that we grew up on what today's idiots call violent cartoons but we weren't violent sure we had fights in school but never heard of a shooting or mass shooting, suicides or all the violence we have now. i carried a pocket knife everyday to school, i remember in 3 rd grade wearing my cub scout uniform on scout day with my cub scout knife on a belt loop seen by teachers that never said anything. oops sorry to get off track just reminiscing.

Samurai Jack, and that one Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon (b4 it turned into Sonic X lol). And I also loved Codename: Kids Next Door, Recess and Pepper Ann. Anyone remembers that chicken song from the musical episode? It's been on the tip of my tongue for years now xD

Tom & Jerry, Cannot beat these two, the early ones, Im not particular keen on the later years productions. I remember when I was a child my father would watch them with me and he'd be laughing so hard I'd stop watching and just look at him, if I ever have kids of my own thats a memory I'd like for them to have to.

Oops, think I posted in the wrong place, sorry everyone, anyway, my favorite cartoon was definitley Tom & Jerry and I have to say it still is today. I can still watch the old ones and laugh out loud and I remember as a child my father laughing more than I did.

naturally11, there was a mythbusters type show a few years ago where they tried to duplicate the stunts from the road runner cartoons.
i like the old popeye, speed racer, if star blazers was the one with the navy battleship in space then that one too. can't go wrong the superfriends(justice league of america) wtbs in the early - mid eighties had a great cartoon show on during weekday mornings, they showed older characters like snuggie smith, heckle and jeckle, the little rascals, three stooges.
