Feb 14, 2016Naturist outings in Japan are extremely difficult to do and are often mostly limited to the onsen experience.
However, my all-time favorite onsen is Takaragawa Onsen in Gunma (http://www.takaragawa.com/english.html) because it offers konyoku (ã“ã«ã‚‡ã) style or mixed-gender bathing in the great outdoors in two large baths and one smaller one. They also don't discriminate against those with tattoos.
If you're a nudist or naturist in the greater Tokyo area let me know if you are ever up for a trip out there. I live in the nishitama (western) area of Tokyo-to and usually drive there as it's only about 2 hours away, mostly via expressway.
In fact, I may be heading there this Tuesday, February 16th, 2016, if anybody can swing this short notice for the trip.
