  I don't think I'd call it an event, I just went to the beach, but well before that when I was a small boy I'd walk along the river naked, not too sure if it was sexual or not, but I liked to feel the sun on my naked skin.
  Many years later I use to go to the beach quite a lot so use to seeing naked people, but I suppose my first the naked bike ride was a big eye opener
  here I was in the center of a city totally naked and nowhere to hide with hundreds of clothed people shouting and waving at us, I forgot I was naked and just enjoyed the atmosphere which was electic.
  Later I went to the Canaries for two weeks in a naked holiday villa the staff were clothed, but everybody was naked from the time they woke up to bed time, had a nice time good job we had a pool as it was very windy and going to the beach was like getting sand blasted, I kid you not.
  I suppose now at 74, being naked on a beach or in a group is so natural now I don't think anything of it.

  My first venture into social nudism was in 2009 for the AANR/Guinness World Record Skinny Dip. I went to the Turtle Lake Naturist Resort in my state. I was very nervous about it and almost drove on by to go home, but I am so glad I didn't. After my initial trepidation, it was an incredibly relaxing day. It came to an end much too soon and I was reluctant to put clothes back on for the drive home.

  My first nude social event was a visit to the old swimming hole for Tallahassee Naturally 10+ years ago. I think they called it 'Skinny Dip Lake'. It was located just north of I-10 south of Monticello, FL and just east of US19. It was actually a dirt dig for a overpass on I-10 but was back in the woods, clear, spring fed water and available. I had called the Tally Naturally for a Saturday visit and told to come on down. When I arrived, and parked there was no one to be found for several minutes. I knew that it was the place as it had their "TN" sign at the entrance. I stripped there beside the car & went looking for nude folks. As it turned out, there were about 4-5 folks around the swimming hole, all nude and 4 out of 5 very friendly. They were all conversational and pleasant and it turned out to be the first of many visits. I must admit, though, walking around the back woods, stark naked, was indeed an adjustment! It turned out that all was well and I really enjoyed it.

  You should definitely go for it

  My first experience of social nudism was a swim, I was very nervous the first time as I thought everyone would be staring - turns out they dont. They are a very friendly bunch and I am now a member of the local swim - the same place that I was nude at.

  Now, when I go to the swims, I just get naked as its a very normal state of being - as it should be,

  Just go for it!

  My first time was on Orient Beach in St Martin. My wife surprised me by suggesting we walk down to the nudist end of the beach to see what it was like. The people there seemed normal and friendly, and soon we were marked too. I was surprised by how quickly it felt normal but more comfortable.

  My first nudist event was a potluck at a non-landed club. I'd "met" the owner and some members in a chatroom; and I was invited. At the time I had one trip to a nude beach and two trips to nudist resorts. But never really socialized much. I knew there'd be a lot of interaction there; and I was curious about actually hanging out with other nudists, in spite of my social anxiety.

  It was at the owner's home. I walked up to the backyard gate - and knocked as indicated - and the owner greeted me wearing a sarong. I walked into the house guided by my hostess, who showed me the changing room before removing her sarong and leaving me to it. My social anxiety kicked in when I was left by myself, but there was no turning back so I disrobed and walked to the backyard. There were maybe a dozen people there, all nude, just carrying conversations and hanging out. One of the people there struck a conversation with me; and it didn't take long at all for it to start feeling comfortable. By the end of the evening I was merrily chatting with everyone. Interacting while naked felt totally natural; and my anxiety was gone.

  I was so stoked that I told my then-wife she absolutely needed to come with me on the next event. She (reluctantly) did and the rest is history.

  Ours was a long weekend at Club Orient on Orient Beach, St. Martin. We checked in and found our mini suite and nobody was around. We got naked and walked down to the beach and found everyone in line at the Perch bar: we had arrived during happy hour. We got in line, still hiding behind our towels hanging over our shoulders. We talked with the people around us and realized they were normal people, they were just not wearing anything. We felt more at ease and finally dropped the towels. Sadly Club Orient is still not rebuilt from Hurricane Irma in 2017, but the Perch bar is back up and running.

  My first social nudist event was in my late teens. A friend of mine had a private pool and he and some of his other friends and I would swim nude when his parents weren't home. I didn't think much about it. Men and boys swimming nude when no females were present was fairly common then.

I reached by around 10, and there were few people there. All clothed except one old man. I went to the beach, but couldnt shed all my clothes. There were group of young girls and few middle aged couples present on the beach at that time. But after a long inner debate, i could gather some strength and got completely naked.
  The experience was stunning. The feeling of breeze all around the body, the openness and the freedom.
  Soon, the beach got filled with people. Some naked. Some clothed. However, it was an amazing experience. I spent the whole day on that beach.

  As a kid and teen, I skinnydipped with the other neighborhood kids/teens. But my first adult social setting was a visit to a clothing optional beach. After only a few minutes, I "optioned in" and joined the nude visitors. Haven't looked back since.

  There are a few indoor clubs, like for example Rios in London. Where you could go a be with nude people to see how comfortable you feel. You do not have to be a member. Its pay at the door. If you feel self conscious you can hide in the jacuzzi and watch the world go by.

  My first experience with nudism was in Germany in the 1960s with FKK events. Then there was one experience with a landed group in Pennsylvania in the late 1970s that seems to have disbanded now.
  That was it for another ten years, after I moved to California, and several people in our social group, including me, had hot tubs that we used in the nude. Until I linked up with my local non-landed group after COVID, that was the extent of my social nudist activity.

  While I was often nude at home, my first "social" nudist experience was shortly after I moved to San Antonio, TX (1986) and became aware of Hippy Hollow, outside of Austin. I must admit, my reasons for originally going there were not the purist, but once there, realized this was something I needed in my life. I was there (or many coves over at Tom Hughes back when that was an unofficial option) pretty much every day I had off if the weather was cooperating.
