We are new! My wife and I will be in the Miami area next week.  Is Haulover Beach a good place for newbies?

That's the location that confirmed my sister as a nudist.  They rent umbrellas as well as sell them for the beach.  You might do better by bringing your own.  Also wear sandals/flip flops as the sand gets hot.  They do have concession stands for food.   Bring a sun hat and apply sunscreen a half hour before getting there as well as every hour or more often if this is your first venture into nudism.

Haulover is a great beach. I have been there a number of times and would not hesitate (in fact I would rush) to go there again.
Any good hotels within easy walking distance of Haulover? We went for the first time New Year's Eve and had a great time. It was my partner's first time at a nude beach and he was naked part of the time! LOL We would like to see what the weather is like in the summer in anticipation of retirement so I thought a long weekend near the nude beach would be great. Places to stay?
If you visit South FL Free Beaches' website (www.sffb.com) it will give you lots of information.

Haulover Beach is on our must see list. From the photos we've seen, it looks like a great beach. One of the greatest pluses about this beach is the reported access. From reports that I have read, the access is basicily a level, unobstructed walk all the way. Can't say that for Californian or Hawaiian beaches.

Haulover is a "must" at some point for nudists, but a bit over-rated at the end of the day.  I'd go whenever the chance came along, but I prefer Playalinda in FL.  Long nude walks with no gawkers, peace and quiet.  You can walk a mile north from the end of thtrail leading to the beach in the nude.  If you love nudity, long tranquil walks like that while completely naked are wonderful.

This is a wonderful beach!  When ever I am in Florida I go every day that I can - for me it is a long drive - my condo is in Pompano Beach - but it is so relaxing!

Haulover is one of my favourite nude beaches.  The water is divine.  I normally stay at a nudist place in Fort Lauderdale and it's about a 30 minute drive down the coastal highway to Haulover.

I was just at Haulover this past weekend, spending four days in a row on the beach. My last visit, I probably spent two or three days. It's tricky to find at first, but once you get the hang of it you'll be fine. The weather was great, though I recommend getting there in the AM hours, as it tends to get stormy in the mid-afternoons in So FL this time of year. You'll be able to spend more time at the beach this way. The weekends, especially Sunday, was packed and well worth the trip.

Hulover needs a "bump" because it's great place. I'm one of many who started nudist experience there. I miss it but I hope I will go back there some day.

I know this is an old post, but a goo hotel for anyone interested is Ocean Palms... it's a bit of a dive, I like to say Historic.. you judge, but the price is reasonable, they have parking (a plus in the area), AND you can walk to Haulover (very short beach walk) from the hotel... check it out... if you are luxury person, you may not appreciate it... lol

I'm planning to head down to Haulover for the first time later this week. How is it on weekdays compared to weekends? Also if I don't pack a lunch, will I be able to grab a bite to eat within walking distance?

Just spent the afternoon at Haulover. Didn't meet anyone but had a great time. Beautiful weather & water was awesome! Just one word of caution...as I was getting out of the water I saw a very large stingray. So when you're in the water, SHUFFLE YOUR FEET. It's an old Floridian stingray scare tactic.
Anyway, I'm planning on going back tomorrow morning from about 9-12. Is anyone from here planning to be there?  And I also *might* be coming back right after Thanksgiving.

I'll be hitting the beach on Sunday after a cruise.  Looking forward to a day of all over tanning!  Anyone else on here gonna be out there?  I'd love to have some company.  (I'm from Texas and don't know anyone in Miami...)
