It used to be a very popular beach.  It is still great when the water is down and you are able to get out to the iland. Nice sand and is on the Columbia River.  About 20 miles east of Portland, Oregon

    Which island do you mean ?  Government Island, Gary Island, Flag Island or Reed Island Or even Sand Island.

    The island at Rooster Rock State Park is called Sand Island. The entire island is clothing optional. You can usually walk out to the island from late summer until early spring when the water level is low.
    There are several islands in the Columbia River that are called Sand Island, but the island at Rooster Rock State Park is the only one that is designated as clothing optional. Nudity, per se, is not illegal in Oregon except in some local municipalities. Therefore, nudity is not illegal in most Oregon state parks - if someone complains, you will be asked to cover up. However since Rooster Rock State Park has an officially designated clothing optional area, in the rest of the park it is illegal to be nude.
