Being Bra less, Panty Less or Topless — The Ladies Room on True Nudists

In the Mens Room, there is a discussion about naturist men going, "Commando," and not wearing underwear for the sake of comfort and its relationship to feeling nude. I wonder what female nudists views are on going bra less, panty less or topless. Why would you do so or not do so and why?

I think if I was a woman, unless I was particularly top heavy and had back problems or something, my bra at least would come off the moment I came in the front door of the house, and it would be pretty hard for me to get me back into it. I'm sure most women dress down in other ways into shorts, sweats or whatever, so why not lose under clothes while your at it for even more comfort?

Also, I would be really tempted to go bra less outside of the home quite a bit.

I hope you ladies will help me understand the female mindset on these things.

Finally, let me say that I find it absolutely ridiculous that it is socially acceptable for men to go topless in so many environments, but it's almost considered evil if women do it.

Looking around the pool area at a nudist resort, you'll find that many men need to wear bras as much as the ladies. Since I have no problem with women going braless, I have no problem with the men doing likewise. This opinion also extends to the textile world. In reality, I guess breasts aren't the problem but the nipples are.

I don't wear bras, I have moderately sized breasts but going braless hasn't been a problem for me. As for commando I find it kind of uncomfortable if I am wearing jeans, if I do go commando I would wear a skirt. I used to get self conscious about my breasts bouncing or being or my nipples poking, but as I got more used to it I stopped caring. So what if someone sees my nipples, I am a nudist after all! I have had other women give me trouble about it, and surprisingly enough most guys dont really comment at all on it!

I do not know if there is science to back it up, but I heard a while back that women who do not wear bras have breasts that do not sag as much because the muscles in the chest get used by naturally holding the breasts rather than that job falling to the bra which is basically a boob sling and so the muscles in essence atrophy.
Any science folks out there able to corroborate?

Thanks for opening the conversation with genuine curiosity and respect. As a woman who embraces the naturist lifestyle, I can absolutely say that going without bras or panties is often about one simple thing: comfort. After all, naturism at its core is about being at ease in our bodies not just when were fully nude, but even in the choices we make with clothing day-to-day.
Yes, for many of us, the bra does come off the moment we walk through the door! The same goes for ditching restrictive layers like panties when possible. Its liberating not in a rebellious way, but in a natural, healthy, this-is-my-body-and-it-deserves-comfort kind of way.
When it comes to going braless outside, the hesitation usually isnt about our own feelings its the social lens were viewed through. Sadly, womens bodies are still oversexualized and policed in public, and that influences what feels safe or acceptable.
And yes the topless double standard is outdated and frustrating.

This is wilful ignorance of what is legal.
Think of it this way, it no longer illegal for the few women who wish to sunbathe toplesss. Ie they wont be arrested anymore.
It does not mean that the women who dont want to get their top off, have to.

As a woman who has lived naturism for most of my life, I can say that going without bras or panties is far less about provocation and far more about comfort, freedom, and a healthy relationship with my own body. Most of us who grew up in naturist settings simply dont associate nudity with anything shocking its practical, natural, and often much more comfortable.
Bras, in particular, are the first thing many women remove when they get home. For some of us, that extends naturally to other settings where we feel relaxed and safe. If clothing isnt necessary, we dont force ourselves into it. Its not a philosophical stance as much as a very straightforward one: why add layers when your body functions perfectly well without them?
As for going topless outside the home, many women would do it far more often if social norms allowed it. The double standard between men and women on this is as outdated as it is obvious. Comfort shouldnt be gendered.
So the female mindset youre asking about is often much simpler than people think: comfort, freedom, and a desire to live naturally, without unnecessary constraints. Naturism, at its core, is exactly that.

What a lovely post and feed. Coming home and taking off your bra and panties is perhaps a nice way to transition from the public to the private world and draw a line here. But thankfully, we can also bring our privacy into the public sphere in order to have a positive impact on it. Imagine if everything stayed behind closed doors. We might have no reason to go outside and wouldn't be able to learn from each other.
Since I personally have very little breast tissue, the question of bras doesn't even arise. I think I have two and a micro bikini. I don't wear them.
I've also heard that our underwear is laced with terrible chemicals that enter the body through the skin. I definitely don't want that. Even my friend Alexandra, who has a decent 75c, goes without.
And down below: yes, our yoniverse wants to breathe. The connection to the earth without a material barrier is particularly strong when doing yoga or squatting. That's also something for me, where I feel the connection with nature most strongly.
Did you know why long skirts existed hundreds of years ago? Because you could be naked underneath them without being disturbed.
The topic of underwear has long since ceased to exist in our home.
A nice approach during the transitional seasons is to simply throw on a light coat and remain naked underneath for short shopping trips or errands. This way, everything stays well-ventilated, and we can spread the message: It's possible to go without layers, and it's much healthier.

I can well understand why women people unfair that they are not allowed to go sans bras ( nipples, making a dent on their tee or top) while men were more than a little bestowed in the upper region were wearing a tee or shirt have their nipples projecting out.
I for one have a heavy chest and when I wear a shirt, my nipples are always an extremity. I dont get any bad comments. So why should you ladies be. Nor do I get people staring at me. If this allowed to happen for women and the sexuality removed Im sure that most would be very happy. The woman that is

Actually, we all know that our society is totally sick and perverted and is governed by prohibitions and taboos that a few people have devised for the many in order to enforce their own perverse interests.
Underwear! What is it for, except to protect oneself from the cold? This second skin, of all things, contributes to sexualization and oversexualization, because it insidiously emphasizes our primary sexual organs and cleverly pushes them into the foreground, detached from the rest of the body.
We all know what a woman and a man look like, so why should anything be hidden? Or covered up? Because our brains immediately think of exposure! This is something that has been conditioned over centuries and is not natural. Why do young girls or boys only want to be perceived selectively? Why do mature men or women prefer to look at young bodies? You have to ask yourselves that. In any case, it is not balanced and is perceived as a disturbance. It is related to objectification and the reduction of a personality to its sexual characteristics. This is just a symbol of our society, which has lost all connection to a holistic view.
The height of idiocy culminates in piercings and nipple covers. There is no more destructive and self-mutilating way to treat one's body. However, some people need this torment for those concerned.
But why should I HAVE to hide anything!
Just because I'm NOT ALLOWED to be seen.
I love it when I'm aroused here with my Hans and Alexandra, and we independently show one or two physical reactions, become aroused or wet, or get hard nipples. The triggers can be so different and not sexual at all. We rarely take this as an opportunity to become sexually active, but we notice it and respond with tender affection, if desired and permitted. But most of the time, we laugh, joke, and bicker when we catch each other doing this. For me, it's a sign that my friends are feeling good at that moment and are so relaxed that life pulsates within them in this form. When blood rushes to the soft tissues, we are truly ourselves... the rest is adaptation.
