This is my biggest problem with being naked around others. I have recently started going to the gym but I'm really unhappy with the state of my gut. I'm sure this isn't all that unusual but how do you guys get over it?

flsmoothieMar 20, 2019Ive heard it said by a professional athlete, abs are made in the kitchen. Going to the gym is commendable, but good diet is essential.

Your gut is a problem for you whether you are nude or clothed so enjoy the nudity. Remember, the only person that will have a problem with your body image is you. Anyone else does not matter.

The trouble is you have to eat a lot of chicken to make up for those beers!
There are a few low carb beers out there but the good tasting ones are loaded with carbs!
Spoken from someone the doctor said to stay under 34 carbs a day.

Most of the bodies I have seen have a gut. Some people are skinny and have a set of abbs, I think the best thing to remember if u lose weight and u still have a gut . It's just your middle shape. So look at what is good and make that better! It how people do It . I can't change feet of hands knees or head . Tummy is in the similar spec.

RichardMar 20, 2019I think the biggest part of your statement is that "you" are unhappy with your gut. No one else cares. Many men obsess about a small penis, or hair on their back, but really no one else cares. Go to nudist events. Be happy naked. And if you want to do something about your gut so you feel better, do it. But don't feel bad because you have it now.

McdcvsMar 20, 2019Being nude around others is liberating! All of the things we try to coverup with clothing and accessories are out in the open. A person with a body that we would love to have would tell you that they dont like something about their body. For the most part, Nudist are more interested in what you have to say rather than how your body looks.

Stone AndyMar 20, 2019When I was a boy scout we had an adult leader who always wore long-sleeved collared shirts, even on hot summer camp outs. Turns out he was ashamed of a lot of tattoos from the days of his reckless youth. This was before tatts were common, but I gained more respect for him knowing there were good stories behind that buttoned-up image he carried.
Showing your gut is a way of saying that you are a man and you are proud. As far as size, remember it's actually smaller without clothes than with them. If you are serious about slimming, do it slowly, a pound or two a week. Make peace with your fat now so you'll clearly see progress, pound by pound. Good luck!ReactReply - ST
SteveMar 20, 2019How do I get over body image issues? Sounds trivially simple, but just go naked! As long as you are hiding your body, you don't shed the sense that you have something to hide. Push past that, into what-you-see-is-what-you-get territory.
Naked people stand and move differently from clothed people (really) because we re-develop a social persona based on presenting the body whole. Stand tall, look people in the eye. Take your mind off your gut, and it won't be important to others, either.

I'm in the same boat. Am pretty fit but the gut is getting a bit much for my liking. My wife says it's relaxed muscles as we age so now I have another "relaxed" muscle I have to deal with. LOL! Plan on getting back in the pool swimming laps and just got a new to me mountain bike and have been riding a few miles each day. Probably won't do much for the gut. Some guys get the tummy and some get the love handles or muffin top. Not a whole lot you can do about it unless planning to lose a bunch of weight which isn't easy with my wine drinking and snacks. Sometimes I say I'm going to give up the wine and snacks and then sometimes I say fuck it. The latter usually wins. I saw a picture of me come up on facebook from 10 years ago and it was pretty much there as well.ReactReply - OL
OllyMar 20, 2019Just go to a nude beach or venue and have a look around. Fit men with flat tummies are definitely in the minority. Don't let the porn stars and Add men put you off. Most of us are overweight and flabby but we expose our naked selves with confidence. Nudism is about being happy in our own skin, whatever shape it encloses.
So, just go out, strip off, relax and enjoy life.
Incidentally, if I worried about my tummy I'd have to cut down on the beer. That isn't happening.

PeteMar 20, 2019Hey listen to Olly. I'm 69, 5'11" weigh 250 pounds have a 50 inch waist. Haven't seen my little guy in while and seriously couldn't care about my image anymore. Now that I have described my features of today, I remember being much more slender and fit when I was in the military, if there was any self consciousness it would have been then because I had some concerns about what others thought. Today couldn't care less and it appears nude friends couldn't either. Having too much fun naked today to care.

AlMar 20, 2019Steve in Kona is right. You "get over it" ( ie, your self-consciousness) by just getting naked with other naked people. Once you take the plunge you discover the change in body awareness and acceptance. Good luck. Enjoy your bareness.

Hey Olly I totally agree with you. A good life beats good looks lol.

My shape is 'kinda' what it is...I'm still active...still work 10 hour days but my shape is 'shifting'. I"m not too concerned...I'm enjoying older life and want to continue. Now...just where did I leave that carton of Breyers?

notclothed_sm798Mar 22, 2019What about a chiropractic check up also? Recent xrays showed my neck going forward more, and back curvature worse - after traveling for a bit for work - so I need to hit the chiropractor a couple times a week - I literally get taller as I go through chiropractic - so if you stand straighter and are a bit taller - then it stands to reason your gut will look different also -

IrvingMar 24, 2019Most nudists are welcoming people. First time you meet another nudist is like you've known each other lol your lives.
