Please post if you own less clothing than the list in the previous post.
While mine is not that small, I will post it to get things started.
1 suit jacket
2 dress slacks
2 cargo pants
1 sweat pants
3 swim suits
7 shorts
5 sleeveless shirts
14 t shirts
10 collared shirts
2 sweaters
2 sweat shirts
Bottoms are probably at my minimum, and may even need to add a pair or 2 of jeans when the weather gets cooler.
Don't really need that many shirts, but all of the tanks and ts and a few of the collared shirts have a message or logo of significance to me.
Interested in seeing how low we go before the posts stop!

Tom DOriginal PosterMay 12, 2021LS polo got a hole in it, so I got rid of it.
While I probably will replace it in the fall, it still feels good to have one less item of clothing for now.ReactReply - TD
Tom DOriginal PosterOct 15, 2021Needed to increase my clothing supply since I am taking a 13 day clothed vacation with little chance to do laundry.

Tom DOriginal PosterDec 23, 2021
So now that I have decided not to go back to the gym, I will need fewer pair of gym shorts and have no need of anything longer than 5". Should I toss my remaining 8" gym shorts now or wait until they wear out and not replace them? 8" shorts are shredded and in the trash. Waited until today so I would have time to destroy them at my leisure , but once I got started, I couldn't help ripping them quickly and getting the pieces in the trash. Ripped up a t shirt too while I was at it. A long sleeve t shirt will go as soon as the weather gets warmer. Don't intend to ever again wear gym shorts with more than a 5" inseam.
I bought one pair of 5" dress shorts a few months ago and found them ideal for most places, I have therefore decided that as my 8 to 10 inch dress shorts wear out, I will replace them with 5 inch shorts. I do have 2 pairs of zip off cargo pants that become about 9 inch shorts that I can wear the few places where I would not be comfortable with the shorter ones.ReactReply - TD
Tom DOriginal PosterFeb 1, 2022
Someone on another board has the same idea for when he retires. He is planning to donate his better clothing and destroying the rest. He would then live completely clothing free for as long as possible then buying only the absolute minimum he must have as he needs it. YAY! Glad I'm not the only one to think of this. Thanks.
Probably more difficult when you are working than retired.ReactReply - TD

Another one had a September to May seasonal job and lived on a small farm. One spring when money was very tight his wife sold all of his clothes and had nothing to wear until they sold some crops in late summer. A few others posted that they were working toward having no clothing but none of them said that they got to that point.ReactReply - TD
Tom DOriginal PosterMar 9, 2022Some updates.
12 day vacation was cancelled but I have a 15 day one hopefully coming up in June so I am not getting rid of anything at this time.
T shirt count has increased because I was given one at several charity events. Need to get rid of some of them.
I really liked the 5" gym shorts so much that I bought a pair of 5" cargo shorts and 3" gym shorts. Cargo shorts are great, and as my existing 8" cargo shorts wear out, I will replace them with 5" ones. 3" gym shorts were not comfortable, so I ripped them up while wearing them and put the pieces in the trash. Now that I exercise at home (nude) 2 pair are enough.ReactReply - TD
Tom DOriginal PosterApr 11, 2022Bought 3 pair of 5" dress and cargo shorts recently.
Got rid of 2 pair of longer shorts and an old t shirt to keep the count even.ReactReply - TD

We had planned a Balti cruise but most of the countries bordered Russian or Ukraine, so we decided that it was the wrong time to go. Clothing count is still creeping up so it is time for another purge.ReactReply - STStephenDec 2, 2024
When my kids left I had a lot of clothes. Being a pit boss I had quite a few suits, hell, I had $2500 in ties. They all just sat there not being used for a few years. Finally last year I started getting rid of stuff, didn't even think, just threw it away. Socks were gone the day I retired , ties and suits about 6 months later. Then last year I finally went through everything else. Now I have:
0 socks
0 underwear
2 pair of jeans
2 pair of sweatpants
5 polo's
5 see threw shorts
5 other same shorts but with liners
A few jackets
A bunch of flip flops
And 2 pair of shoesI think that's about it , the only laundry I do is towels and bed stuff, and maybe 2 shorts and shirts a month

All but 1 suit within 6 months along with most of my dress shirts and about half of my business casual clothes. The last suit went within 2 years but I did keep one blazer. All of the underwear and undershirts were gone within 2 years. Since we got a privacy fence shortly after I retired, I got rid of most of my swimsuits, but kept 2 for travel and when we have company. I was enjoying getting rid of clothing to the point that I had to be careful to stop when I got to the optimal amount. 5 years after retirement Covid arrived so I dropped my gym membership, started working out nude in my basement, and got rid of half of my gym shorts and sleeveless shirts. Over the past 4 years, I haven't reduced my clothing supply further, In fact, it has crept up a little so I am probably due for another cleaning out, I always do it nude, take all my clothes out of the closet and dresser, pile them on the bed and put a box for donations and a bag for trash next to them so it takes more effort to keep something than get rid of it. The only clothing reduction in the last 3 years has been replacing all of my longer shorts with ones with inseams of 5" or less.ReactReply - TD

You asked how many hours I wear clothes a month, maybe 2 hours max. I do get dressed when grand kids come over, but they haven't lately because they live multiple hours away.
As for washing clothes, I normally throw them in with the towels or bed clothes.
The closet is filled with paintings my wife has and jars used for canning stuff I grow.ReactReply - TD

If you dress that rarely, even with the small amount of clothes you have, some of them haven't been worn in months, maybe even years. Still curious if when you go somewhere that requires clothing you drive there nude, dress when you get there and undress before you leave?ReactReply - TD

As I have stated in other posts, I have issues with excessive heat from clothing touching my skin. Sitting in my recliner feels like having a heating pad on the back side of my body. When I drive to town to go to a store I drive clothed, always wearing light weight shorts, pants only when I have to. The longest I've gone nude is from noon Xmas day until January 23rd, that was in 2023. I don't consider shoes to be clothing, I normally wear sandals. I have been asked if I used to live in Alaska, this was in the middle of winter, in the 30s while wearing shorts, flip-flops, and a tee shirt . So I really don't like the heat.

For food we had groceries delivered. We are both retired but basically homebodies. We don't see doctors, at least not in the last 10-15 years. We both have mobility issues due to back problems, can't walk very far, so we don't get out a lot.
