  well at home I prefer going nude but in summer months especially I like wearing a jock strap or g string under my short or a bikini brief . I went commando for years but every once in awhile it's nice to change up. but home i'm nude.

  I have been a wearer of jockstraps since jr. high and to this day if underwear is needed is my choice of garment. Love the freedom it gives my goods.

  I prefer nude or commando, as I have been doing all my life.

  However, I remember when I was in 8th grade, I was injured in an accident and was told (forced) to wear a jock for some reason to help the healing process. My mom went out and bought a couple of them for me as I was laid up and unable to travel. I remember the feeling of the wide strap being much more comfortable than the thin elastic used in regular underwear (which I could not stand even then). I remember the back being totally open, sans straps and feel like I was dressed in front but nude in back. A very unusual feeling. Although my feeling capability was incapacitated due to the prescription pain medications for the injuries, bruising, and swelling.

  Memory of the incident is fuzzy, but I believe it took about a month before I had healed up enough where I could be nude again. I remember being VERY relieved to just be nude all the time like before, and go commando under clothes when I had to leave the house.

  That's my jockstrap story.

  Although I have a few jockstraps, I no longer wear them. I played sports growing up and through college so I was used to wearing a jock often. I liked the feel of them. Starting around 14, I had the entire upstairs of our farmhouse to myself. I would be nude all the time in the four bedrooms up there. When I would hear my mom start up the stairs, I would put on a jock. This was in the days before a/c so we depended on fans to cool the upstairs and the less clothes the better. My mom did not seem at all concerned about me being in a jockstrap. My dad was often nude when walking thru the house after his bath or when he was going to bed. I would be nude around him if mom wasnt there. Honestly, I do think a jockstrap looks good but nude is still best.

  Never have I worn a jock strap. As a kid, when I knew about them, they were for football players. Since I never plated football, I never needed one.

  They were required attire for High School PE. I have bad memories of PE and a jock strap might bring on PTSD.

  I started wearing jocks for PE in grade 7. Although not a big athlete, I have worn jocks for some limited sports like skiing, swimming & skating, I much prefer the open feel for Summer wear. I have had an issue with butt crack rashes in hot & humid weather & found wearing a jock minimized my problem.

  Had to wear the blasted thing for jr hi football, only thing worse are tighty whites! Anything I need a jock for , I no longer desire to partake. I dont like anything that wads my balls up!

  jock straps have come a long way since wearing them in pe class many years ago, now great styles and colors . I still like the feel of the knit material covering my penis and the minimum straps on my butt wearing shorts during hot weather.

  I think some people may not be aware of the casual jock strap designs that exist today. A jock worn for high school sports is really different than a modern, comfortable jock strap meant for comfort. There are a lot of different brands to try so do an internet search and check them out. I generally wear them when I want something to hold me in place and feel comfortable as well as when I work out. I don't like wearing briefs when I workout and going without isn't an option for me so a jock strap works well.

  Jock straps were required apparel for gym class when I was in junior high and high school. As a matter of fact, crazy as it sounds, our jr. high Phys. Ed. teacher pulled the top of his pants down on the first day to show us he wore one for work. Imagine that happening today? Never. We were required to wear them and guys wore jocks for all sports. So at that time, walking around naked in the locker room, showering together and wearing or seeing other guys in jockstraps became a kind of symbol of masculinity for me. It was my main way of practicing nudity. Even though a jock is an undergarment, it was open in the back, exposing our naked bums to each other for anyone to see. Some wore them into the showers and would then peel them down. At that time I never thought of them as restrictive. Sometimes I went commando but I usually wore boxers, occasionally briefs, and sometimes I would wear a jock strap. When I wore one under dress pants I liked the feeling of my exposed ass in the pants. Now I only wear them for workouts. Sometime in the 1980s I think jockstraps fell from the public favour. I knew athletic kids in the early 90s who had never worn a jock. I think compression shorts replaced them. Maybe it was a coincidence but that's the same decade when group showers were remodeled, barriers were put up between urinals, the group jacuzzi was removed from our locker room. I found many young men who wouldn't think of showering at the gym, preferring to go home in sweaty clothes rather than to remove clothes in a locker room. Football players, baseball, soccer, hockey, they still wear jocks but many high school kids play sports without them. Then, the weird thing is that jock straps emerged as a fashion statement. The colors, the styles, the materials all became about appearance and comfort instead of protection and support. I do still like them. I have never worn a thong nor would I ever wear one. I hate the way they look and I did try one on once and hated it and took it off immediately.

  Funny story, at least I think so. :) I played Pop Warner football way back. We were practicing and a kid walked up to the coach. Practice stopped and we turned our attention to them. The kid asked if he could play. The coach said yes but you need a parents consent form and an athletic supporter. The kid asked, "Can my dad be my athletic support?" We laughed and went back to practice. Not sure how coach dealt with that one.

  My first jockstrap was early in school. Always liked them. Been wearing jocks for a few years now when I have to wear clothes. It a great feeling for me. Love the wide band ones.

  I have worn a jockstrap for any sort of workout or athletic activity ever since being required to do so by my 7th grade gym teacher. The white basic athletic supporter is the best. McDavid makes a good jockstrap in that category.

  We had to wear jocks starting in 7th grade PE class.

  We were told that they were required to provide the support needed to prevent injury. That was repeated from 7th grade through 12th grade. However, they never specified what injury might happen if a jock was not worn.

  I've gone online looking for the medical reasons for wearing a jock -- same story -- to provide the support required during physical athletic activities. But never anything specific.

  The only real use I've ever found for a jock is while riding a unicycle. A jock keeps your cock and balls pulled to the front and up -- so you don't end up sitting on them. That could be very painful. Tight jeans also work well.

  Other than that, my opinion on jocks is essentially the same as for any other piece of clothing -- if I don't have to wear it, I'm probably not wearing it.

  Nude when possible; commando when clothing is required.
