Anyone grew up with a nudist dad? or in cultures where nudity is not that rare? For example i'm from Colombia and I think here is more common than in the US. How is it in your country? do you think is good for self-steem? just wanted to update the topic and discuss with another dads or other real naturists about different experiences.

Jul 4, 2026Here in the USA. I grew up with a religious family. So I never really seen my parents ever naked. I did see my brother a few times naked. But we shared a bedroom.
But I have been talking to people who were raised free. It sounds so perfect to see what life will look like in the future.ReactReply - NOJul 6, 2026
We shouldnt be ashamed of our bodies.
No we shouldnt and a good dad will encourage being body positive. Its a great thing.ReactReply

My dad is Christian and from the US and is not a nudist either, at least growing up nudism wasn't an option

As a nudist Dad, I encouraged my son to be proud of his body and who he was, he is now a man and has no issues with body confidence so I hope Ive done something right:)

Jul 7, 2026I grew up in a religous household. My dad however walked around in tigthy whities, Donald Duck style. I actually had that style for the longest time haha. I think in the USA it is rare but I have heard of families that practice. I think Europe is where it is really accepted like in Germany I think.

Jul 10, 2026I grew up as an only child with a single nudist dad. He taught me body positivity, very open with explaining how my body developed. He was also very sex positive and encouraged me to explore what felt right to me.

Jul 16, 2026I avoid using the word nudist because it implies social nudity since everyone is a nudist taking a shower. If there are no public nudist spaces, and the private ones such as AANR resorts ban single dads and their sons, how can you be nudist? Especially if you live in a tight urban area without a lot of freedom to be naked outside or inside (curtains etc)? Despite all this, I encouraged my sons, now 21 and 23, to be body and sex positive. Their mother and the local community were more prudish, but at least my sons can question views instead of just accepting prudishness with no consideration. As my sons find their own way in life, they're still casual with clothes around me and it will remain to be seen what practices and views they lean into as young adults.

Jul 16, 2026I would say, that at their age in life and you have given them the option to be free of clothes at your place . Then it really up to them to discuss and decide if they are comfortable without clothes at your place or theirs what to wear.

I did not have a nudist father. When my mom remarried my step father as into nudism but my mom was not. When she traveled for work no clothes were encouraged. He also made sure to wake me up if my mom was home so i could sleep nude. My mom traveled for work a lot which helped. I am no raising a son as a nudist so he can be body positive since so many today are scared of their bodies being seen.

To living nude together. And the Dad decide alone what is part of this kind of parenting. In Germany isnt usuable to raise a son nude without any restrictions. But its better for mental and physical health of both to grow up nude. I wasnt raised nude, but was introduced very early by Dad. Nudity makes the relationship between both closer. So Dad and I was very close. He showed me regular how deep his loving is going inside.ReactReply

Sounds like a magnificent time. My dad wasnt a nudist but I learned nudism at bestfriend from school. They were nudists at their house. My friend invited me to join them on a summerholiday at their summerhouse. Just with him and his parents. I loved it!

I feel like I was very lucky that he was comfortable teaching me about my body and sex. I can't imagine having to learn and explore with a stranger or in an unsafe way. We also chose to go with what felt natural and right in our house and spent most of our time together naked.ReactReply

Jul 25, 2026As long as both of you love each other and totally enjoy such a wonderful relationship, there is nothing wrong at all, in my opinion. It's all about how you express your love.
