Has anyone been on, or is on testosterone replacement ? Shots or cream or other? Have you had good effects from it?
I have been on it for a few years now, started with the cream and then to the shots....

JimMay 12, 2025I was on Testosterone for a year or more and it didn't do much for me. My T levels went through the roof. But my libido and activity levels remained the same. I've been off it for more than a year, and I prefer not being on it. I know some people have a great experience with it. But that's just my experience. I hear that there is an injectable pellet (that goes in the buttocks) that is supposed to do wonders. But I never tried that option.

painthorseOriginal PosterMay 12, 2025I am on 1 shot every 2 weeks .....I am not sure if it makes any difference...? thinking of next visit to ask to go to maybe every week to see if that does anything. I did go off it about a year or so ago, and I felt the difference when I stopped....felt lifeless. no energy, and weak....so I started up again. I am wondering about injecting it into my testicles.... Have read good and bad about doing that way. Has anyone tried injection into the testicle? I am going to try it.

painthorseOriginal PosterMay 13, 2025I tried it ! It was the best shot I have given to myself, ever....no pain at all ....it was a little weird to watch it and not feel it....
I was scarred that it was going to hurt, of course ....and it was just the opposite, much less pain than in the arm or leg. Just put it straight into the ball, no pain at all. If you are doing these shots, I highly recommend that you try it, it is soooo much better than the arm. I have been doing these shots for more than a year...don't know why I didn't do this sooner.ReactReply - JO

painthorseOriginal PosterMay 30, 2025thought I would give an update....I have done injections into the testicles 3 times now..... right, left, and then right again just now....
I know it seems crazy, but it is all in your mind....it truly is a much more comfortable shot in the testicle than in the muscle. It is a bit controversial injection site, so investigate it and ask your doctor....but for comfort, I assure you it is the best spot.

ChrisJun 6, 2025I went to a local mens clinic where they tested my levels and said my testosterone was very low. I did a year of injections with them. Biggest effect, honestly, was that it seemed orgasms were stronger. After a year I went to a standard doctor and had levels tested again after being off the shots for two months. Levels were great and remain so. I believe the mens clinic, who had a vested interest in me joining their program, mislead on those initial levels. Today Im all good. I received shots in the butt on opposing sides every two weeks and it was very easy.

Stone AndyJun 6, 2025Based on my understanding, t-levels drop and estrogen levels increase from weight gain and the presence of endocrine disruptors in clothes, plastics and everyday products like shampoos that we absorb in our skin. I believe alcohol and highly processed foods are detrimental, whereas foods like fatty fish, dark, leafy greens, avocados, cocoa products (without all the sugar), berries, and shellfish boost levels of testosterone. Whereas soy products and other phytoestrogens have been debunked as increasing estrogen in men, I still avoid them.
At the same time, I consider testosterone only a contributing factor in overall virility. Exercise boosts much more than just testosterone. This includes breathing exercises (especially tantric), pelvic exercises (such as kegels) and stretching to fight common pelvic anterior tilt which diminishes men's posture (tucking the genitals in and away). It's a lifestyle not a number!ReactReply - MEMemberJun 9, 2025
I started with shots about a year ago. At 64, I was finding it hard to maintain muscle mass or gaining any. So, definitely getting some better results at the gym, with a bit more stamina. Not dramatic, but moving the right direction. Libido... well, maybe a small bump. Labs showed a big improvement in t levels, but my estrogen levels were high too. Sometimes a side effect. So, started a weekly estrogen blocker pill. That did the trick.
Shots are weekly, I do the thighs, easy enough. Downside? Your balls shrink... like about 40%. I have low hangers no more.

painthorseOriginal PosterJun 16, 2025my blood tests are coming up next week .... I will have a question about estrogen level....and maybe a bump up to once a week instead of bi-weekly.....my muscle mass is my problem, muscles are just melting away. Doesn't seem to do much for libido, but that is not my concern, wife doesn't have any desire anyway .....it sucks to get old !

BlueJun 16, 2025No. I don't feel the need to and know too many people who have had prostate cancer. The treatment for that is all about lowering testosterone levels as that's what the cancer feeds on. So not sure I want to go out of my way to artificially boost those levels.

OLD Army DogJul 4, 2025Having MS, in 2010 I found that "T" can help with and improve health for MS patients- guys and gals. Have used both shots and gel- and I can tell you that the GEL is the best only because you apply it daily. a shot a week and it is like a roller coaster. first you are LANCE ROMANCE and by the end of the 7 days you fell sluggish when that little bit every day adds up and is sustained with the everyday amount. I keep my "t" at 800+ so my MS will not destroy me should I get an attack. You need a doctor that really knows "T" tho- many SAY they do but do not. What counts is the FREE "T"- you can have 1200"T" but not be utilizing 200 of it. So, you need to keep a handle on your hormone spectrum by getting tested every 3 months to insure you are not over "T"ing and just wasting it. It can seem like a magic bullet if you do it right- many do not. so, if you know as much as your doctor- and his knowledge is off the box- RUN,..., LOLOL!!! and find a real Hormone specialist.

OLD Army DogJul 4, 2025If y9ou are having issue in the gym - the bedroom- you need to get serious on the labs. Just because you inject or RUB "T" on you-in you, does not mean you are getting it- all directions of Hormone balance need to happen to make sure your body has FREE "T" available. Even your diet will affect your FREE "T". So if you are depending on supplementation to work for you- there is a lot more effort to this than just bending over and taking it in the ,...,cheek!LOL!!!!ReactReply
