Has anyone participated in the past?
If so, any advice?
I am considering doing the walking division this year.

Be prepared for a hilly course. The year I ran, the race leader noted that the very steep main street we would run on is nicknamed Heart Attack Hill, but not to worry, since we would be running downhill on it! First, you still have to run uphill somewhere else on the course and second, running downhill on a steep street is just as bad as running uphill on it. They do multiple laps around the course, with part on roads and part on their hiking trails in the woods. They also did a 7K that used to go further into the woods until they realized they were sending a bunch of nude runners off-property. I think both races each summer are now just 5K.ReactReply - TD

Do you know if they still have a 1 mile walk option?ReactReply - J.
May 23, 2026I dont remember a walk option even when I did the event, so cant help. The only race with a walk option that we ever went to was at Lake Como. I did the 5K then Mrs. J&C and I both did the 2K walk.

Tom DOriginal PosterJun 17, 2026Registered and ready to do the walk,
Anyone else planning to be there?ReactReply - J.
Jun 17, 2026We are both volunteering at Solair's Wine Tasting event Saturday, so we won't be heading down. I am still out of shape from not running 3 years after a partially torn Achilles tendon and skipped Solair's 5K so I don't think I'll be doing any 5Ks until at least next year.

Tom DOriginal PosterJun 17, 2026I don't run, but the Sunny Rest event has a walking option.

Jun 19, 2026I've signed up to "run" the course tomorrow. I'll be doing the 1 mile run/walk. My days of running are behind me.
If you go I'll be wearing a green St. Louis Cardinals ball cap.T

Tom DOriginal PosterJun 20, 2026At Sunny Rest now. Walk was great. Met up and walked together. Pool and deck are crowded. Still great to be nude in a crowd.
