There are so many abandoned groups without moderators where the former owners/mods dont have accounts here. Wonder why the admin arent more responsive to requests from those of us still here to become mods if we ask. That similar to how they do it on Reddit.

DianeAug 9, 2024Years ago I joined a group created by a couple we were friends with. Shortly afterwards they asked me to moderate. I thought their rules kept others from joining the group so we parted ways. The group folded later from lack of participation.

I had success taking over a 'low activity' by joining, posting several messages and then asking TT2 to make me the Moderator. It was not an instant thing but after a couple of months of reminders, it did work. If you are successful, good luck paring down the dead / long gone members and cleaning up the group. It is a lot of work initially, I hope it works out for you.
