I know websites try to get their member counts up as high as possible for the site advertising revenue rates, but since that is generally based on site activity, wouldn't it make sense to delete those that have signed on in 12 months or more? Even better, if they go 6 months with no log-on, send them an e-mail saying they will be placed in an inactive status and if they don't log in, they will be deleted.
Seems to be a fairly large number that sign on, post no profile information and never come back.

I had not thought of that. TT1 has soo much going on already, that would just serve to overload him. Maybe a program could be set up to automatically delete members who are inactive for a year. Kind of like the timer on a tv, or the program that logs you out of TN when you take too long typing a post.

mallardm45Jul 30, 2011I find inactive members usually move on to the kind of site they are really looking for be it a porn site or just something informative to them. I do have to agree though to remove all the inactive members that are over 1 year.

Properly this can only be done by key admins. I think a big factor no one is getting is that these zombie members are in many instances simply there to harvest member info for spammers or other malware operators. This is something that should be done regularly as a best practice, and delegated to members with the know how if the Admins are unsure how to use the back end tools, or are really too busy to TCB.ReactReply
