Forum topics that are over a certain age like one year should be closed to more comments. Often times the OP for these old posts isnt even on the site anymore. Forum users would be better served by a new post on a topic, even if it is the same or similar question.

DanteApr 23, 2024I agree to a certain extant. There are however some threads with useful information that are over 1 yr old that have been good references for me for travel related stuff, some with info that is still very relevant. When I was searching and had seen newer posted threads often there would be people getting frustrated over a hashed out topic and told them to look back at the previous threads.
It would be nice to have update information, though you can always respond to a thread to bump it up to the front of the line so people can add to it with new info.

Interesting poin. Closing forums would stick leave posts for viewing just not adding replies.
