group topic replies from non group members

So i have people who are not a member of my group being able to respond to group topics is that normal? When I try to remove. I get this message [quote]You do not have appropriate permission to complete this action[/quote]

    I believe that if a friend posts to a group I don't belong to, their post appears in my feed, with a functioning reply button - so I can post into the group's thread by replying to my friend's post.

    That is true. I'm not a member. I picked up an entry from a friend read it and replied to confirm it to be the case.

    Interesting shouldnt really work that way should it? Defeats the purpose of having group membership. I submitted a bug report hopefully they will take a look at that.
