I would like to delete the messages i send, as well as the messages I receive.
Is this possible?

it would be nice to be able to delete old sent messages and might even free up some room on the server.

I'm not trying to have a dig at anybody, but why do people feel the need to delete messages?  For me I always find that there are situations where I need to refer to an old message, even ones that are months old.  As a result, I never delete messages.  Emails on here are not that much of a system hog, so really, I don't see the point.
Then don't delete the messages.  That's your choice.  I would also like to delete old sent messages.  That would be MY choice.
Shit Rabbit, OF COURSE it's your choice, I never said it wasn't.  All I was curious about was the why, it was an honest question and there's no reason to get snippy about it.
I guess my point is, is that your comment was confrontational.  Why did someone asking for the option of deleting sent messages require your first reply at all?
You know what Rabbit, forget it.  I'm not turning this thread into a serious discussion over an honest question.  Think and post whatever you want mate, I'm sick and tired of nearly every damn thread on this forum having to turn into something serious.
