Mass mailings ... worse than the regular mail.

Just a curious question ... is there any way to stop a 'mass mailing' to the site's groups? I was just looking for new & hopefully, interesting comments posted when I noted a large group of things posted about an hour prior. I looked at the post ... an obvious 'services available' offer and checked the next one down ... also posted an hour earlier. Now, curiosity took over and the next, next and even next hour earlier post was reviewed. They appeared to be the same down to page 4 where it ended at "Friends of TeamTrue2". It was almost too funny. Nothing like adding to the article / posting count is there? We'll endure it all until we can't ... what else can you say?
