I'm completely new to nudism so I'm taking it slowly. I've uploaded a couple of photos of me nude with my face visible but they're only visible to friends and even doing that was a big step for me.
I've just reviewed my profile to check if any of my friends could figure out that I'm me if they found it and I have no doubt that would be able to from what I've written.
I wonder what would users opinions be of a privacy option where only logged in users can view their profile?
I understand that long term nudists (and some newbies) don't care who sees their profile and/or photos but someone like me who's starting out likes to be able to take it at my own pace, decide who sees what and maybe open it up more as I get more confident.
It could also help those users who are in sensitive jobs.

SteveJan 25, 2018The search function doesn't work for non-members, nor can non-members see photos other than the profile thumbnail. True, there are workarounds and security is not absolute, but the simplest workaround is obvious - anyone on the planet can join TrueNudists for free, instantly, and without posting a photo or any other personal information. So restricting to logged-in users doesn't provide any privacy. Making membership harder would go against the at-my-own-pace style you ask for.
TrueNudists does NOT require photos, let alone nude photos; this is an accommodation to newbies and those in sensitive jobs. Given the sensitivity you've expressed, you might consider using a profile photo you would not mind the general public seeing, should they stumble not-so-accidentally across it.

I wouldn't expect it to be forced on everyone but would be another option along with private profiles. It might even mean more people use that option instead of private profiles.
Not being able to see photos is a good point but you don't have to be logged in to see the groups a user is in, their friends list and their forum posts. You don't even have to be logged in to read the forums or discussions in public groups.
You've made me wonder do I mind my friends or colleagues finding out I'm a nudist or if they see my nude photos. I think at the minute it's finding out I'm a nudist until I'm comfortable enough to tell them. After that I might not care if they see my nude photos.
At the minute I'm not comfrotable enough to use a full frontal with face profile photo but I might like to further down the line.This site is the second link if you google "edinburgh nudists" so they wouldn't have to try very hard to find me. I get anyone can create an account for free, and I wouldn't even think about changing that.
Yeah, it would be an accidental find on their part and the situation I'm probably thinking about is a group of friends searching local nudists or nudist spots for a laugh.It's not going to stop the people signing up just to look at nude photos but I'm not worried about those unless they post the photos elsewhere on the internet.
I was just thinking it's an extra privacy option that would be a small addition and would put me, and others like me, a bit more at ease.

ZekeJan 25, 2018First, if anyone would (which they havent) ask me why I'm on this site, my response would be "why are you on it?" I'm not ashamed I'm a nudist, though I've learned that not everyone has the same idea of nudism, and that goes for this site also. I also have to keep some peace at home so I use some privacy in what I post and who can and can't see it.
I accidently and not by my choice, posted what turns out are the first six public pic in which I'm still in some clothing, the first nude pic isn't till a few past that. So if a non paying member were to look at my profile they only see the those clothed pics. Non paying members from what I understand see your first six pics that are posted that are public. If you set the pic to be only for 'friend' then they have to be a friend to see it and again if not paying member they only see six. You can also set the pic to be for 'certified only' or even 'certified friend only'. Then if the individual has not done the simple step of getting certified they can't see the pic even if they are a friend and paying member. Making the payment, which is like less than 100 for lifetime, give you rights to see all pics that the individual has as long as you are friend or certified or both, if you want to keep some privacy with you pics. If you leave them all open as 'public' then paying member can see all of them. One thing to note, regardless what setting you put on your first pic you upload, it will be viewable on your 'feed' . So if you don't want others to see your first pic in your feed, than you'll need to make your profile totally private. I just upload a non-friend certified pic first. This is a small way to at least make it a little more difficult are those using pics for other purposes than what we upload them for.
You will find with time you are more comfortable you'll get less concern about this. I always keep in the back of my mind, this site does not prevent individuals from downloading pics, that is right click on mouse and presto you download the pic. They can also use screen print. Remember what goes on this WWW, is there for ever. I know a few that have found, their pics on other sites, like tumblr. At one time I had followed a tumblr blog what was pics from this site, now it's not there but I have an idea they just moved to another name. You can't 100% proof yourself, in this day and age, with 'smart' items, you're not safe from anyone taking your pic. You don't even need a phone anymore, just a smart watch or glasses and presto pic taken.

OllyJan 25, 2018I just looked at the stats. Out of 305,300 TN members only 69,100 (22%) have any photos in their profile. So by uploading any photos you are doing more than most.
I started tentatively. Then I thought - if I want to see other members naked I'd better let them see me. So started a few of (now) 1,000's of nude photos in my profile. And there are similar numbers on other websites. I stopped caring who sees me naked. As someone said - If they ask why I'm in TN I can ask why they are (or, at least, why they are looking). I'm retired. Everyone around me knows I'm a nudist. I have noting to lose and something to gain. It makes life much simpler. And occasionally I get real interest in my nudist activities from textiles around me. Why be scared to show yourself? It's liberating !
There are groups and members who distrust members with very little in their profiles. How do we know they are real nudists, not just voyeurs? OK don't go outside your comfort zone. But there are benefits as that zone expands.

Eric/ReinaJan 28, 2018The only time that I feel a bit bothered is the profiles that are set so that you cannot see any of their profile. You cant see profile, profile picture, or anything else. They however, scroll through all of my public photos.
