I think many of us can agree that the goal of this site is to meet other nudists and promote nudism in a positive and non-sexual manner. That being the case, why is there a sexual orientation option on our profiles? If you are asking what someone's sexual orientation is, then that kind of implies that looking for a sexual relationship is ok. So, in my opinion it's kind of confusing. It's been on my mind off and on for awhile now and I'm bringing it up because I've seen several profiles that are kind of walking the line. Pic's are ok and they are here as nudists, but they are also saying they are looking for sexual partners, which really isn't ok in the spirit of the website, but I can see how they might be a little misled when TN is asking what their sexual orientation is. Any thoughts?

Curt, or CowboyJul 9, 2009Personally, I don't see it as being any different than the same option on Myspace or Facebook.
No big deal.ReactReply - BA
BarefootBillJul 10, 2009It doesn't bother me one way or the other. I am straight, but I work in the entertainment profession--so I have a lot of gay friends.
I think the orientation listing is merely another method to classify. If TN removed that, wouldn't be a big deal. And there are still groups highlighting sexual orientation.ReactReply - MI
Miss_LindaJul 11, 2009The question is not necessary but I am not offended by it either. If it were a question that wehadto answer I might consider it intrusive, but since it is a question that we may answer by our own free will, I don't see it as a problem. Of course, that's just my opinion.ReactReply - FR
frankySep 3, 2009Hi there,
I think orientation helps people to chose their friends and find it good for people to match by their sexual interests as well. I find it good if people can find matches through this site. It is good for them and doesn't harm the site in anyway. Cheers.ReactReply - MEMemberSep 4, 2009
I opted not to answer because I don't wish to be defined by my sexual preferences.

I agree, I do not think the sexual orientation box is needed. Who really cares what a persons sexual orientation is about on site promoting nudism, which is supposed to be about body freedom.

If it something you wish to know about a person, then you can ask, it certainly is not important in the friend no friend decision.
ReactReply
