Photos not being rated

I've tried rating a few photos from the gallery recently, and when I click on the stars I see a quick feedback saying how many stars I rated it at.  However, it doesn't seem to take effect, and when looking at the photo afterwards, straight away, or a day later, there is no change in the rating.

I looked at the new photos, and NONE of them are rated, starting from the 13th December.  Maybe this was when the new gallery system was introduced?

Is this a known problem?
