I just logged in on my page, and I happened to look at my statistics, and my "popularity" index was 0.
It usually was upwards of 12,000. I know its just a number, but, wow, popularity 0! I'm feeling so depressed.

PaulJul 14, 2017There has been an web upgrade about a week ago and this has been lost, (also another one yesterday) which could have been because when you use the search you now go to the last log in against the most popular in the pre upgrade. yes it was fun to see if I had got below the 10.000 mark.

JohnJul 15, 2017Happens every time. One thing gets fixed, 12 get broken. The previous "upgrades" created some serious security issues that still linger:
1. The "Certified Only" flag on any media actually allows everyone to see your photos unless your profile is private.
2. Media posted can be seen by everyone in your feed regardless of what security flag you put on it. If you post multiple media at the same time, only one can be seen this way.
3. Media deleted from your profile (and maybe photo album/groups) isn't really deleted. Just the link from your profile goes away. The media stays on the media server.
4. There is zero security on the media server. If you have the full file name, you can access any photo/video without even being logged into TN. (I assume the same is true of TS, but haven't attempted to verify). Anyone in the world can brute force file names with a simple script. Want to test it. Copy this URL to your clipboard
m77.socialco.media/tn/d/7/a/d7a9f3ac2fbfc1f9dc2c8a20353bb40ec934a4dc.jpg
Log out of TN. Paste the URL to your browser. The media will come up. Note that this photo was in my profile and then deleted. Yet it's still there.

TomJul 29, 2017I have no clue what the popularity number is! Is there a list for those concerned about the number so that they may see where they rank? Just curious. To me it's arbitrary.

TomJul 29, 2017Mine is over 42,000. I guess that's bad? Still, maybe we should have a series of emoji associated with it so we can feel better or worse about ourselves? Or possibly an acronym. AMIIC?

TomAug 10, 2017I still have no idea what it really means, or if it is necessary. I guess lower numbers are better, as mine keeps dropping? Have fun with these entertaining numbers which are more than likely inconsequential.

PaulAug 10, 2017
I still have no idea what it really means, or if it is necessary. I guess lower numbers are better, as mine keeps dropping? So a lower number is better.ReactReply - TO
TomAug 10, 2017I suppose that one day, in the way distant future, I'll get to a number I can count with my fingers and toes! Only time will tell! Thanks for the info!

John aka cobeachbum
This issue seems to be mostly fixed with the latest "upgrade". Newly posted media no longer appears in the feed. Media posted prior to the upgrade still appears in the feed, but clicking on it just gets a never ending timer. John aka cobeachbumReactReply - PA
PaulMar 2, 2020Interesting the 11th most popular hasn't been on the site for 5 years and another one not on this site for 8 years who is in 10th place.
