UPDATE - The privacy settings are now activated on my Private Group.
Non-members are blocked from seeing discussions, members, photos, and events.
Thank you to whomever made this correction. What's weird however is when you search the group by name it comes up as PUBLIC.
I don't know the Privacy status of the dozens of other Private Groups I contacted where I could see all their content, etc.
*************
I created a [strong]"Private"[/strong] Group, but anyone on TrueNudists can see the group, see the members, read the discussions and see the events.
[strong]THIS IS A HUGE CODING ERROR[/strong] for ALL TrueNudists members' privacy!
[strong]If you moderate a PRIVATE Group and experiencing the same issue, PLEASE comment below and fill out a Ticket by clicking on the REPORT A BUG tab below at the far bottom left of this page.[/strong]
I randomly looked up other groups designated as [strong]PRIVATE[/strong] and found the same utterly [strong]TRANSPARENT[/strong] content of those groups (that I am not a member of) over and over again.
[strong]This needs to be addressed not only for my group but for EVERY PRIVATE GROUP on TN.[/strong]
The are two PRIVACY settings that I chose for my group:
[strong]Group Permissions "Private - Members must be approved and content only visible to members"[/strong]
and [strong]Picture Permissions "Private - Only members can view group pictures/videos"[/strong]
I've asked other TN friends and non-friend members who are [strong]NOT "group members" of my PRIVATE group[/strong], what content is visible to them.
Not only can they see EVERYTHING. All the content has appeared on their FEED as notifications about my posting activities to the group. And not only that! They freely linked to the full CONTENT that is supposed to be private! Just as I have done with all the "Private" groups I am not a member of.
I've reached out to TN Corporate 2X by email and 3X by phone message and have not received any response.
[strong]THIS IS A HUGE CODING ERROR for ALL TrueNudists members' privacy![/strong]
Can anyone moderating this forum PLEASE reach out to Corporate about this?
Can we get some more members to weigh in on this to gather some momentum for ensuring the privacy of our members and membership?
Attached photos below are screenshots of a PRIVATE GROUP that I am NOT a group member of.
I can see ALL their content but for attached photos/videos.

Yes it's happening to my private group too which is former members of meet nude men. There is no privacy controls in place., There should be but there isn't. If it's happening to our two groups it's more than likely happening to all private groups.

Dont know if it a bug or intentional but group discussions have long been accessible by folks who are not a part of a group even when the group is private. It something I asked about a while back but got no response. I think is is because of how the group forums were set up. Seems they are tied to the sitewide forums in some way.

I find that if a friend has posted in a private forum, I can see the comment in my feed, open the thread and perhaps comment, even if I am not a member of that group. Perhaps this path also bypasses some of the privacy restrictions.

I commented once from a friends feed and received a rather nasty email from the group mod and they blocked me so I couldn't reply back. It was all pretty childish but it takes all kinds I guess.

UPDATE - Had someone from the chatroom test my settings.

Someone NOT a member of the group.

It seems my PRIVATE group is now showing up as PUBLIC in Group Search.

However, the discussions, members, and events are all blocked from view to NON-members. This is good! Thank you to whomever made this happen.

    Perhaps it was Teamtrue1?

There may be settings within each group that you can set. I haven't set up any groups, so I don't know, but what is interesting is on one of the groups I checked, I could also see the gallery. Leads me to believe there are security settings within the group that need to be set. I would think they would default to the most secure on a private group, but this site has so many security issues, it doesn't surprise me that they don't. John aka cobeachbum

    Which group specifically is this?

Group admins can set their privacy settings any way they like. They can make a group private or visible but not able to post. Please tell me the specific groups so that I can verify and fix if needed.

This issue was, for the most part, resolved.EXCEPT for EVENTSwhere the privacy settings are completely inoperative. https://www.truenudists.com/forum/thread/209124/privacy-settings-for-events-inactive/

The INACTIVE PRIVACY SETTINGS FOR EVENTS results in the event being posted to the Worldwide Nudist Events page. https://www.truenudists.com/events/

I moderate aPrivate ACTIVITIES Groupthat I would like to createPrivate EVENTSfor. This way I can invite all the members in the group, and correspond with them about updates, and specific info regarding the event -through the event invite- without having to individually message everyone and get shut down for "spamming" in the process.

Without being able to create a PRIVATE EVENT I am forced to copy/paste invites to each member individually. This is a HUGE HASSLE, and really shuts down the Social Networking possibilities of the site.

Ongoing issues for groups I moderate. Like cant approve members. Get a screen that gives option to leave the group.
