"SEARCH" facility problem....

I regularly use the search facility yet over the last few days it is demonstrating a very annoying problem; I can see users profile pictures but the initial text associated with it is only apparent on screen for a split second before disappearing. I have searched my settings and cannot see anything that has changed or would cause this problem, from reading other forum posts it would seem I am not alone in this.
Please could you advise on whether I need to change a setting or if there are plans afoot to correct this issue if it is applicable to everyone?
