Why does approval take so long?

I posted a review for a hot spring and it still hasn't shown up yet. And I added a location to the Utah locations and it's been weeks and still nothing. I added directions and details and included an email address for status on the approval and I still haven't heard or seen anything. I've seen locations with less information. Why is this stuff taking so long? I know it's not instantaneous. But..its been weeks. Is there a better way to streamline this process?
