I was fortunate enough to meet one of my heroes, Peter Hammill, of Van Der Graaf Generator, when the band performed at NEARfest, a now defunct, three day progressive rock festival that was held in Bethlehem PA. It was in 2009, and the band's first performance in the U.S. since 1976. At the meet & greet after their show, I was the only one in line who didn't have something to be autographed. When my turn came in the queue, I walked up and told them I didn't have anything to sign, just wanted to say thank you and shake your hands. It was, and is to this day, the greatest weekend of my entire life.
