About craighassler
I am 49, gay and live in Morehead City, NC. I love bicycling, kayaking and sailing although I don't have a sailboat at this time. I have created edible landscapes around two houses that my Friend and I own. I catch rain water in rain barrels, cistern and pond at the two houses and use that water for gardening wiyh cistern water being used for drinking and making home-brewed beers. I make artisan breads and focaccias. I also repurpose recyclables like aluminum cans into shingles that I use to shingle interior and exterior walls. I take bottles from the waste stream, clean them, remove labels for home-brewed beer and storing drinking water. I also use paper and cardboard, covered with leaves, pine needles and/or grass to cover lawn and make a mulch that holds water and promotes worm growth and increases soil fertility for edible, flowering landscapes
At this time I'm interested in meeting other hay men
I guess I've reversed my interests with about me. I've lived in NC for almost ten years having completed a therapeutic massage diploma program at the county community college, had a business for 5 years but wasunable to do enugh business to keep my license active. I moved to NC from East Hampton, NY where I worked at a shellfish hatchery that we developed in one remaining building of a WW II-era torpedo testing base in Montauk for 13 years growing bay scallops, clams and oysters and seeding them into the local waters there. Grew up from 6th grade on in PA, went to PSU for three years studying Petroleum then Environmental Engineering before trsnsferring to LIU-Southampton and graduating with a degree in 1986. My parents were in their 40S when I was born. My dad was a petroleum engineer for Esso and worked in Peru in the 1950s, then Venezuela, Columbia, Nicaragua in the 1960s and then Australia in yhe late 1960S to 1973. I started school in Australia and have posted about this on Facebook for anyone who's interested.
Cars, B-52s, Devo, Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Jill Scott, Queen Latiffa, India Arie (sometimes I think there's an African American woman trapped inside me considering the last 5 artists).
Brazil, Argo, Warm Bodies, Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Maurice, The Celluloid Closet. I'm a bit turned off to most movies because they are kinda negative and focus on dysfunctional relationships. This seems especially true for how gay men are depocted in movies...if they're allowed to live...although the movie with Kevin Spacey and the tub filled with rose petals... am horrible with names, the gay couple in that movie were the most normal, in a good way, of all the characters.
Barack Obam, Nelson Mandela, Oprah Winfrey. My Mom and Dad.
