Being born on the bayou, I like lowland forests, meadows, flowers, lakes, rivers and St. Augustine grass. People say I am understanding, compassionate and interesting.

All my life I have been a scientist, so I like most forms of that field. But there are not many jobs in that, especially in Tucson, so I turned to photography (also job and career sporadic but what I really wanted to do since I was a little boy). In high school I was the newspaper and yearbook photographer.

Hits from the late sixties and early seventies. From before my time I like jazz, big band and swing. Blues and groups with elements of R&B (such as the Doors and Kool and the Gang) are among my favorite. One type of music I grew up on was soul in the sixties. My twin sisters are both music history professors, so I dig some classical and have a few pieces on my iPod.

Total Recall, the Terminator series, Robinson Crusoe on Mars, in general action and sci-fi. Also romantic comedy such as 50 first dates, Sleepless in Seattle and Moonstruck. Such Disney animated movies as Finding Nemo and Madagascar are included. The one genre I do not like is gratuitous horror (thumbs down on Jason), though Carrie is one of my favorites. The Green Mile is an excellent delineation of good and evil, and Secondhand Lions is sweet.
