About Kathy
Hi! I'm Kathysingle mom to my amazing daughter Emma, and I'm literally smiling and blushing as I type this, deleting and retyping every other word because putting this out there feels so vulnerable... but also so exciting! So here's my story: I just got back into nudism after years away, and wow, I forgot how absolutely freeing it feels. Growing up, my dad took me to Solair every single summer, and those are honestly some of my happiest childhood memoriesjust pure, carefree days running around, swimming, playing volleyball, feeling totally safe and accepted. It was such a joyful, natural environment, and I always knew I wanted Emma to experience that same magic. Life happened, as it does. I got married, had Emma, got divorced a few years ago, and honestly, nudism just kind of fell off my radar. I think part of me assumed it was something from my past, not something I could revisit as a mom. But lately I've been thinking a lot about how I want Emma to grow upconfident in her body, comfortable in her own skin, with those same happy summer memories I cherish. So last weekend, I finally worked up the courage and took her to a local resort for our first long weekend together. I was so nervous beforehandlike, couldn't-sleep-the-night-before, second-guessing-everything nervous. What if she hated it? What if I felt awkward after all these years? What if other people were judgmental? But the moment we got there, something just clicked. The nerves melted away. Emma took to it like a fish to watershe made friends instantly, ran around like she owned the place, and oh my goodness, the snack shack! She was absolutely spoiled rotten with all the soda and ice cream she wanted, just like I remember being. But the absolute best part? She turned to me at one point, all serious, and said she loved "feeling like a celebrity." I about melted right thereit was the cutest thing! She just loved the attention, the freedom, being herself completely. She had the time of her life and keeps asking when we can go back. And me? I remembered why my dad loved bringing me so much. The community, the acceptance, the way you stop thinking about bodies and just be. We're definitely going back. I'm still a little shy about it allI'm definitely the type to blush when introducing myself, and I'm relearning the ropes again as an adult. But I'm so glad I took that leap. I'd love to connect with other local nudist families, especially other parents who might understand the unique joy (and occasional awkwardness!) of navigating this lifestyle with kids. Someone who gets why "feeling like a celebrity" at the snack shack is basically the pinnacle of childhood joy Thanks for readingthis already feels like a huge step just putting myself out there! Hope to meet some of you soon
I'd especially love to connect with local experienced nudists who really know the scenepeople who've been part of the community for a while and can help guide me as I find my footing again. I feel like a total newbie in so many ways! Someone who can share tips on the best resorts, the unwritten etiquette, how to navigate social situationsbasically a friendly face who remembers what it was like to jump back in. Also other nudist parents, especially moms, who understand that unique mix of joy and "wait, is this normal?" moments that come with raising kids in this lifestyle. Someone who won't judge me for still getting butterflies when I introduce myself, and who might want to meet up for pool days or family events. Bonus points if you remember the pure magic of a snack shack as a kid! Ideally looking for genuine friendshipspeople who are warm, patient, and maybe willing to show this shy returning mom the ropes.
Emma is your classic water baby, so anything involving swimming has her hooked. When we're not at the pool or beach, you'll probably find us on a shopping trip (she's got opinions on fashion now!), getting our nails done togetherit's become our little mom-daughter ritualand belting out songs in the car. She's definitely the DJ on road trips. Truth is, though, we're pretty much homebodies at heart. We love our cozy nights in, movie marathons, baking experiments that don't always turn out, and just being in our own little bubble. The nudist weekend was actually a big adventure for uswe don't get out as much as maybe we should! But I'm learning that stepping outside my comfort zone can lead to the best memories
Our car karaoke sessions are pretty much exclusively pop countrythink Carrie Underwood, Luke Combs, Shania Twain (old school, I know, but Emma secretly knows every word to "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!"). Emma's got the whole dramatic hand-gestures-while-singing thing down, and I'll admit, I get way too into it too. We're definitely that car at the stoplight with the windows down, belting our hearts out. Fair warning if you ever ride with us!
cozy, predictable, happily-ever-afters. The Proposal, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Crazy Rich Asians, 10 Things I Hate About YouI've seen them all probably way too many times.
who made sure we had those magical summers at Solairhe'd take time off work, pack up the car, and just be there with me. No distractions, no excuses, just present and making memories. That's the kind of parent I want to be for Emma. Her dad... honestly, he's pretty much a deadbeat. Not really in the picture, doesn't make the effort. It's hard watching Emma deal with that disappointment
