I am a 42 year old student at MSU studying dietetics. My associates degree is in culinary arts, so it seemed a natural step to keep studying food from a different point of view. My partner and I have been together for about two years, and since he is "the zest in my lemon meringue pie" it seems we will be together for many more to come. I am trying to quit smoking, but only half-heartedly! The one thing about me that I like the most is my ability to see the humor in life even when I have to look REALLY hard to find it! What attribute do you like most about yourself?

I am here to make friends and explore a world that is somewhat unfamiliar to me. One reason for this desire to explore is that I am studying to be a dietician. It will be my job to help people accept their body and be comfortable with the things that they cannot change. I feel this exploration will be a valuable step for me in accepting my own self-image.

I am interested in a wide variety of things that are completely unrelated to each other. I love to bake, especially cheesecake, but I am interested in health and nutrition. I love anything crafty and consider myself an avid quilter, but one of my favorite things to do is to get a heap of lumber and build something... like a shed or a fence. I have two aquariums because I couldn't decide between saltwater and fresh, so I did both. I love to play video games. I am a very amateur photographer... meaning I know how to use my digital camera pretty effectively, but have no idea how to use any other camera!

I like most music. My favorite artist is Cyndi Lauper, but I appreciate many others... like Annie Lennox, Faith Hill, Beyonce, Tim McGraw, SIA, Tina Turner, Taylor Swift, and many, many more!

Love movies, mostly romantic comedies or action films. Favorites include the Color Purple, Avatar, Harry Potter, Feds, Steel Magnolias, and Vibes (if you recognize that title, you may be a true Cyndi Lauper fan!)

The baby duck who brought a smile to my face on one of my lowest days ever, my niece who was accepted to the University of Hawaii despite all the obstacles in her way, and my partner because he loves me without expecting anything in return.
