Recently, I was up for an adjunct faculty position at a local communtiy college. It wa sonly for teahcing a lab course over the summer, but it would have been something to do and possibly a place to start a new career path. I hit it off with the professor I interviewed with, and he siad he woudl storngly reeocmmend me. However, the person(s) who ultimnately decided chose another candidate. This professor is strongly recommending me for a couple of lecture sections in General Chemistry and intordcutory Nutrition if/when they open up. Nothign solid there, but hopefully those positions will open up. I'm used to hearing rejections, but after a 14 month drought, it's a little harder to take than usual. I've applied to two other community colleges for open positions in the fall, and applying to another one today. I'm still in the running at several companies, so we'll see what develops there. Adding to the frustration is hearing everyone who sees my resume tell me how impressive it is, but then no one makes me any offers. I wonder why I have any sanity left at all some days, lol. Oh well, dust myself off and try again. I hope tp have some good news to share soon.
