Appt with Surgeon

Hi friends, Well had appt yesterday and after consulting with both of my pulmonilogists, and oncologist, the surgeon had decided that I need MAJOR surgery! It will be this Thursday the 22nd of Sept. They plan on going in and making a 6 inch insicion on my right side, and remove 4 half dollar size pieces of lung, and tissue from my lymphnodes. After the surgery I will go to the ICU where i will be on a vent, and have drain tubes, in a induced coma, for 1-2 days depending on how i do, i will then move to the step down unit, and begin to breath on my own, then on to a regular room, so i will be in the hospital for at least 1 week. The Dr's have made it very clear that this surgery is NOT THE CURE ALL!! Just the next step in the process. I have tryed to remain strong through all of this, and it has been a VERY long road, as you all know! I had a bad day yesterday and spent most of it crying! I am TRULY scared to death! But i will dig deep down and find the strength to get through this! Also this means i will have to postpone my party! :( After coming home they say it is still quite a recovery, 6 weeks, of doing nothing but getting up to use the bathroom.
