friends request

Has anyone had a request from someone to be their friend only to find out the next day that there is no name for that which was given by the request the previous day? As had no interaction with this person previously either. It makes you think twice about accepting anyone you dont know or have had nothing to do with previously......It makes you think that there maybe some deception going on or virus workings etc.....It can be a worry....
