Here is a short list of classifications that should help to better understand who is who in the homosexual umbrella. This is just a basic explanation of each one, and there are many more, but this is the basic list that conforms the LGBT community (Lesbian; Gay; Bi-Sexual; Transsexual). TV -Transvestite -A person who dresses as of the other sex, either for pleasure or for show business. He/she feels fine with his/her sex and is attracted to the opposite sex. The dressing is more for experiencing of being of the other sex for a moment, but always wants to return to be of the sex he/she was born. CD -CrossDresser -Same as Transvestite CD = TV Queer/Drag Queen -A man who dresses up in women's clothes, typically for the purposes of entertainment. Usually they dress to an extreme, as to represent a celebrity, or to look like an extreme woman, to a level that makes them look like a witch rather than a typical woman. TG -TransGender -Someone who is of one gender but feels of the other, like a man who feels as a woman. They feel of being in the wrong body, but haven't done any changes yet and usually live and dress as of their own sex, keeping their desires for the same sex as a secret inside that doesn't show outside. TS -Transsexual -A TransGender who is in the process of changing his/her body from one sex to the other. Usually involves surgeries, hormone replacement and therapy/counseling. It is a very long and very expensive process. They divide between Transsexual Woman, who is someone who feels as a woman but is in a man's body, and Transsexual Man, who is someone who feels as a man but is in a woman's body. Two Spirits -A person who holds two spirits (or souls) in one body. The term comes from American Indians who identified people who acted as men or as women indistinctly. I am a Two Spirits and a Transsexual Woman person. Gay -A man who feels fine being a man that just happens to be attracted to other men rather than women. They don't feel in the wrong body and don't want to change it. They just prefer sex with men rather than women. Lesbian -A woman who feels fine being a woman that just happens to be attracted to other women rather than men. They don't feel in the wrong body and don't want to change it. They just prefer sex with women rather than men. Bi-Sexual -A person who is comfortable with his/her own sex, yet feels attracted and likes to play with both sexes rather than just the opposite (or the same). I hope this short and basic explanation helps to better understand to those who are heterosexual. It is important so people could know better, and with it avoid using the wrong term with someone of the LGBT community, especially because using the wrong term could be considered insulting. Hope this helps! Kisses Angel
