Well, since law enforcement prospects were so dismal, I decided to make the US Army my stepping stone, and before I knew it, I was a Military Police Officer in the most elite fighting division in the world: The 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg. Wile there were VERY few opportunities for nude recreation at Bragg, I did try and live as nude of a lifestyle as I could, and since we MPs had our own rooms, I was nude in my barracks room and of course, slept in the nude. I also promoted (encouraged?) healthy nudity by always walking nude and uncovered to the showers, shaved at the sinks uncovered and nude, and had no problems in that regard, although almost every other fellow paratrooper at least wrapped themselves in a towel. I never got any comments about it anyway. This was at a time when there were only males in our company, though later when I visited in the early 2000's, I saw /learned that there were now females and was curious as to how they managed that. Also, I learned later that my company was decommissioned in 2007. There are still MPs in the 82nd, but they are embedded directly in the battalions they supported. Keep in mind that this, again was in 1986, so the internet did not exist, but I had heard that people could find private spots on the outer bank islands, especially on Ocracoke, so I did go out there on one weekend, and walked far from the ferry landing and was able to be nude in the dunes and seeing that there was no one close by enough to see, managed to swim naked in the ocean. But, because there was no internet, I did not know that there was a nudist resort not too far away, Whispering Pines, and did not find that out until much later. I also tried to lay out in a remote section of Bragg that was not too far from the river that runs on Bragg's Eastern edge, but it lasted about five minutes as I was swarmed and attacked by every flying pest known to man. Yeah. That did not end well. If I had only known about Whispering Pines back then. Oh well.
