The Purge

So today I watched this movie, and was thinking that while I understand, though do not agree with, the premise of the movie, I wonder what the creator of this was thinking. A time period annually in which the whole nation can do what ever they want with out legal intervention is an odd idea. Strangely, all they focused on was the killing aspect, not the burglary or other illegal things. I wonder if the focus of the movie was more towards less offensive crimes would it have been as good. I don't think that one night annually is enough to reduce poverty, crime, and what not. I mean there are some sick and twisted people out there who would not be able to restrain themselves with such a small amount of time to "play". I would not mind a time period to take out my aggressions with out any punishment, but I don't like the idea that I would enjoy it. I am rambling...
