Well as of last week our paypal account for donations was cancelled by paypal because our site was deemed "adult" or "inappropriate". Donations were up and pretty much covering hosting costs, but
with the donations gone, I'm not able to support the bandwidth for the 10,000+ unique visitors a day.
Since a large portion of the costs is strictly hosting and bandwidth I'm keeping everything the same but limiting the number of pictures users can see with a "free" account.
I've also added some incentives to signing up, and with some money coming in I can make some upgrades that we need. Hopefully this will be a positive
To recap, the chatroom, forum, profiles etc will all stay free to view, the only limit on the site is
the number of gallery and user pictures you can view (top 5).
I'm sorry that it has to go this way, but after a year of running the site and putting
up my own money and tons of time, I need to get this site paying for itself.

I'm wondering if there's a misunderstanding....think this through, you can have more than five pics here and all remains the same, the fundamental difference is that if you want to VIEW more than five on other profiles then you need to pay the $4.95/per month.
THE BIGGER BENEFIT IS: is that now, pictures cannot be copied by ANYONE which makes this site and the pics safer than many others. A benefit that everyone was lobbying for about four to six months ago. Five bucks a month to protect our pics and not see Jen on a Russian porn site, you bet I'll pay it, if just for that!
BTW folks, other sites like NING are totally unsafe for pic use. Images are stored in a server somewhere, where other ning accounts can pick them up and display them without your knowledge or permission. Absolutely no ownership control... so go for it... The advantage here is so much greater!
So the sky isn't falling, the sky IS NOT falling, it's getting sunnier!
Steve.
P.S. and as we've told others in chat, the VISA/MC issue IS being addressed.... nothing is perfect the first time you create it...ReactReply - MEMemberJul 17, 2009
Steve, The pics can still be copied. I'd be happy to copy any of yours and send them to you. If you can see it on the screen, you can copy them.
Go ahead and try....using 'save picture as," and the 'copy' commands, save a clear frame to file, when you go to open it up, nothing there....ReactReply

My problem has and always has been the profiles with no pics, the lack of moderators (thankyou the guys and gals who have stepped in when i have asked to FLASH) and the limited options to pay
BUT
Thankyou TT for your response and hopefully we can all settle down and support poor TT in keeping this site going!!

There is another added bonus that I think many people have neglected to see in their anger/surprise over the change. One of the bigger beefs I have seen here is the perv element, how people just troll the profiles looking at nude pics. Now that there is a charge to view pics it will add a discouragement for the prevs not to come here, as there are many free sites out there to view nude forms. Furthermore, it is an added security feature to protect your nude pics. Another major concern is people's nude pics can be taken and start floating around the net. Since most pervs do not pay for their pleasures, if your first 5 pics uploaded are non-nude there is less of a chance some perv is going to take your pics. Just another way to look at it.
I copied and sent you the mushroom pic. If it can be seen, it can be copied. And it doesn't take a geek to do it. But it only takes one person to do it and spread them all over the internet should they choose. So don't be uberhappy about the disabling of the right-click option. The other method only took me about three seconds longer to accomplish.
For crying out loud Jim and Steve. Curt please don't jump on this bandwagon. The fact of the matter is that TT1 listened to us....many members asked for a right click disable and he gave it to us. Many members asked for a better way to scroll through pictures and he gave it to us. TT1 does listen to the members here and take into consideration the features they would like. It may take a little longer than we would like sometimes (patience - we all need to learn patience) but it does get done! You don't find that at most of the other sites. Okay - so does disabling the right click make everyone's pics completely safe? No, of course it doesn't. Any one with half a brain knows that. It does, however, make it that much more difficult. For all you computer nerds and geeks out there - the fact of the matter is that the majority of john q. public are NOT that computer savvy and when you announce to them that there are still ways to get around it - (I've even seem some geeks here who actually spell it out for them just to prove a point) Then you encourage them to find those other methods. So thank you TT1 for listening to us and adding a feature that many of us have requested. For any one who cares if their pictures are safe - this feature makes it more difficult, but not impossible. You still need to use caution posting pics that you don't want to find any where else if you are someone who has concerns about that. JenReactReply

There's still a couple of GLARING mistakes that need to be corrected: A safer and more reliable payment company than AlertPay, and more payment options. Hopefully those fixes are in the works. Jen, it serves no purpose for people to think their pics are now safe, when they aren't. That's just full disclosure. The average John Q. Public is getting more and more computer savvy everyday, and the ones who specialize in spreading pics around the internet are fully versed in the "how-to." There is no harm in members being made aware of this. The safety of the members come before the health of the site. When all the other issues are fixed, we will repost our pics, but members should never think that their pics cannot be copied, and it should never be announced that way.
Pointverywell taken. Thank you, Rabbit. And thank you TT1 for adding a feature that many here have asked for that makes itslightlymore difficult to copy pics. JenReactReply

Miss_LindaJul 17, 2009I'm not a computer geek. My photo editing software allows screen captures. I can copy anything that appears on screen. TT1 may be listening but when he disables right click, he's listening to people that don't know for what they are asking. The only thing that accomplishes is an inconvenience to those of us that like opening new windows. I personally think he should have started cutting costs by eliminating the gallery then charge for the cam chat feature.

Curt, or CowboyJul 17, 2009
For crying out loud Jim and Steve. Curt please don't jump on this bandwagon.
What ? Who ? me ? I dint do nuttin !! I did once say it's near impossible to stop *me* from copying a pic if I so desire. There's virtually nothing that will stop me, *IF* I were to deem it worthy of expending my time and effort. It's not. That does NOT mean anyone can do it. The vast majority can not. TT1 has done a good thing with that right disable. In fact, I support the move. How about crediting members for every pic above five, some reasonable figure per month, or year, or whatever, to encourage posting pics. Maybe Rudie would feel better about being compensated in some way, while the site continues to charge the voyuers for the privalege of seeing them ? That way, members who enjoy posting pics could still have a full-access "free" account, by providing inventory for the other "paid" memberships ? Of course, the credit would be limited to new pics per month, or something like that. Methinks I've stated previously, I've no quarrel with WHAT was done, more with the WAY it was done, but I'll get over it. If it was me, I'd have gone further, making chat ( especially chat ) a pay feature. Probably something like allowing 5 minutes for non-paid, then cut'em off, and unlimited for paid members. If chat is that much of a hook. It's not, *to me* but maybe it is to others ? I do disagree with disallowing forum posts for non-paid. Sure, there are some prolific posters who might be squelched ( swift ? ) but if we want to ENcourage newbies, then let 'em post, and interact with real people in a controlled fashion. I see few posts from newbies generally. OR limit posts to 5 a day, or some number for non-paid. Some of *us* might be encouraged to think a little more before hitting the "submit" key. For *me* that's not necessarily a bad thing. Maybe a one-time $50 charge for certification ? I dunno. Just thinking "out loud" a bit. Heck, that way admin would know who they are, where they live, what their credit card number is, all sorst of useful info in the event one becomes a "problem" on the site. Maybe ad pages for each and every new page for non-paid, and an option to turn off ads for paid members. ( kinda like Juno used to be ) My impression is that WHAT was done, was a hip-shot, fired in a small panic. Could have been better, BUT the bigger mistake would have been to do nothing. Look at the suggestions, and REAL member feed-back that has resulted. I've half a mind to acquire the site and implement many. I could use a full time gig anyway......ReactReply - MEMemberJul 17, 2009LOL, Curt, I appreciate the fact that you knew exactly what I was talking about and didn't get offended that I mentioned you. lol...Yeah Curt, I'd be screwed if they made me pay to use the forums.
One idea I wish they would consider is charging for use/viewing cams in the chatroom. That feature, while I love it, causes more problems than it's worth sometimes and if people were forced to pay for the privlege, maybe everybody involved would respect it a bit more. Besides, it would also address his concerns about bandwith, as I imagine webcams eat up way more than pics do.ReactReply
