I believe that the things happening today in Washington is the start of a long slide into losing our republic. The Constitution is the framework of our republic and BHO wants to chip away at that. If he succeeds in repudiating our rights under the second amendment, what will his next target be? Will we no longer be secure in our homes, papers and personal effects? Will we not be able to peacefully assemble? Will we need to be wary of what we say and who we say it to? Can we be arrested and imprisoned without due process?

If he succeeds in this one thing, we will no longer have a republic but a dictatorship, or government by the elite. Many people have sacrificed their lives and fortunes to retain the republic and I believe there are many out there who would still be willing to stand up to protect those rights. BHO has not just attempted to throw out a part of the Constitution. I believe he has also sown the seeds of a revolution.

May God bless and preserve the United States of America.

I have no idea what you are.  You could be a man or woman.  You are not certified, have posted no pictures, and have no realistic claim to being an advocate of nudism.  So I just assume that you are a coward, whatever gender you are, and here to peep and perv.  I feel no obligation to respond to such a anonymous source.  But god knows, I don't want to see you.

So is Glenn Beck the source of choice for you truth tellers?  That speaks volumes.  Talk about parrots!

People who are informed don't rely on a nut like Glenn Beck for truth.  Just gross hyperbole and bullshit.  Christ, even Fox dropped him.

You seem to have a lot of trouble writing it.  Who gave you the word "oxymoron"?  Or did you just put a random syllable in front of your descriptor?

Will you at least admit that you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to guns?.
You cannot expect him to have any idea, because he has never made any sense on any subject, yet. And,if he did know, he would be the only one here, because nobody bothers to read most of his offensive gobbledygook.

Another whopper of a lie.  You are so good at that.  Why do you far right wing people make up hyperbolic names for everything.  Anyone with the slightest disagreement with your opinion is "a gun grabber", "a commie", and other assorted nonsense.

OK I have one question for you and I need you to be honest about this, and answer it!  It's a simple yes or no question.  If you lived in the US and were in a position of "Authority" (Politician) would you vote to ban civilian ownership of any firearms other than what's already banned? (This means small arms not rocket launchers and grenade launchers so don't bother mentioning it)

Let's try some logic.  The GTA (Greater Toronto Area), since it has been amalgamated with the suburbs has a comparable population to Chicago.  We have gun control in Canada.  Nobody leaves a gun shop with a gun in an hour.  Toronto averages 40-50 gun deaths a year.  Chicago is over 500.  Why is that?  Try and stop the insults and name calling.

And to answer your question, FF, I have no vested interest in "disarming" your country of any of your weapons.  I simply don't understand the U.S. love affair with the gun.  We have separate histories as countries.  Canada was founded on compromise.  On trying to ameliorate the relationship between the French and the English.  We still need to do something about the injustice dealt to aboriginals.  I don't expect much from our Conservative government to deal with that issue.  Keep your guns.  Keep your gun death rate.  But why not shoot Lindsay Lohan instead of innocent people caught in a crossfire of bullets.  No logic there.  And it would make for a better news story.

Are you aware that guns are banned in Chicago? Couple that with some of the most corrupt governments in the entire country and the criminals rule the roost!

You are pretty "hostile"  yourself to those who disagree with you.  The others simply insult and name call.  So they get sarcasm in return for their efforts.  So are you suggesting that arming more of Chicago would result in less gun deaths?  That's kind of a risky experiment, isn't it?  And previously I have referenced infinite sources for statistics including the Wall Street Journal, the NYT, the Congressional record, etc.  and those references are all dismissed as "liberal bias".  I prefer not to use Fox News as a source.

But back to Chicago, when only criminals and police have guns, the criminals win. The police are neither inclined, capable nor obligated to protect all citizens, so allowing innocent law abiding people to engage in "Self Preservation" by exercising their 2nd Amendment right is a deterrent in and of itself, beyond that, the problem goes deeper with the revolving door justice system.  In that city criminals rule the roost so until the corrupt government running their show starts realizing this, something can be done!  Regardless, the city of Chicago is violating people's civil rights by banning guns within the city as the 2nd Amendment doesn't grant people the right to bear arms it re-affirms a right we all possess! It's a right that is Unalienable and cannot be taken away by people just because they don't like it which is what it amounts to!  Rights can only be given up by the beholder by committing a felony for example!

What you would like amounts to fascism.  No dissenting opinions allowed.  Only one way to think or feel, right?  How's that working for the republicans?

Who is calling you names?  I'm not.  Chicago has been lobbying for stiffer sentencing when it comes to gun crimes and illegal weapons to stop the gang violence.  Do you know which organization funds the fight against this idea?  That's right, the NRA.  Any gun law would cut into the profit of their lobby groups.  Clearly, nothing should be done to limit or restrain gun violence.  Have at it boys.

Thank you Wayne LaPierre.  10 years ago, you were in favour of background checks on everyone buying a gun.  Now you call them a waste of time.  While police associations across the country believe that they are helpful.
You can call me anything you want, but please realize that I feel the same way about you.  And that's freedom for you!
I agree MOW. Should we start the shun mode?
Why am I not the least bit surprised that conservatives such as gassy and the one with the pussy fixation only wish to associate with others that they perceive as similar to themselves? Do they not understand that dialogue with others with dissimilar ideas will expand their world view? I suppose if you  just want to pat your buddies on the back, shut out those who are perceived as different,  and shun the outside world your choices are becoming either a conservative or Amish. The conservatives want to return to an earlier century and the Amish are already there. The difference is that the Amish look and act quaint.
