I believe that the things happening today in Washington is the start of a long slide into losing our republic. The Constitution is the framework of our republic and BHO wants to chip away at that. If he succeeds in repudiating our rights under the second amendment, what will his next target be? Will we no longer be secure in our homes, papers and personal effects? Will we not be able to peacefully assemble? Will we need to be wary of what we say and who we say it to? Can we be arrested and imprisoned without due process?

If he succeeds in this one thing, we will no longer have a republic but a dictatorship, or government by the elite. Many people have sacrificed their lives and fortunes to retain the republic and I believe there are many out there who would still be willing to stand up to protect those rights. BHO has not just attempted to throw out a part of the Constitution. I believe he has also sown the seeds of a revolution.

May God bless and preserve the United States of America.

It's so ironic that you accuse others of doing exactly what you are doing.  Attacking those who disagree with you.  And that is sad.
Oh my dear FF, I have no hate.  I think that your statements reflect your own issues.  It's called projection.  You, gasman, and NiMa exhaust a lot of energy hating on anyone who differs in their opinion.  You reject any evidence from anyone that doesn't agree with you.  Keep your guns.  No one is trying to take them away.  Unless you have a grenade launcher...which I'm beginning to suspect.  Paranoia will destroy you.
I reject evidence that is wrong but you cannot prove that I have ever expressed "Hate" in any of my posts just because I disagree with you simply because I've never done it. On the other hand,  You have on more than one occasion attacked all of us that disagree with you personally with your witty innuendoes and direct assumption of what we must be if we are disagree with your false assumptions.  And in all of the posts I've seen NIM respond to, his first one is always to the facts of the thread until you and other people here attack him personally, which causes him to respond in such a manner that he does!  You all are also assuming that I own firearms!  Despite, your false premise, just because I support the 2nd Amendment, doesn't mean I practice it either!  Either way it's none of your business!  You really know nothing about me!

No, and you know nothing about me.  But you make assumptions.  We could keep turning this back on each other forever, but why bother?  And if you had knowledge of the history of this forum, you would know that NiMA is usually the first one to insult if your opinion differs from his.  Why do you think so many of his posts are now being flagged and removed?

Yes, providing healthcare for your citizens is a nefarious plot to make you all communist.  That's what happened in Canada.  Not.

You never had any credibility with me.  But what does that matter.  You think what you want, and I will think what I want.  If you are truly championing freedom in democracy, you will recognize that right.   IMO, you have quoted nebulous sources and been putting forward lies.  And never the twain shall meet.

My recollection of American History is foggy to say the least, perhaps someone can enlighten me? Did not the British Forces march to take weapons from 'storage'? Were the guns not at a location? Not in the hands of the citizenry of the time?
Is it not a standard tactic, in attack or defence, to remove all opposing weaponry from possible use?

Yes, we do.  And I accept that because I believe in caring for your fellow citizens.  It's the difference between an "I" and a "we" culture.  Clearly you feel differently.  But  understand that your country is the only one in the civilized world who differs from that.  And look at your UN rating for healthcare.  You are below Cuba.  Question that, as I know that you will.

According to the UN.  Which people of your ilk regard as an enemy.  And everyone in Cuba has the same access to healthcare.  You talk of elitism.  That's a U.S. concept when it comes to healthcare.  Only those who can afford it go to the front of the line.  Well, the character of any nation is a reflection of how they treat their poorest citizens.

but Thomas, you do.  Look at all the threads that you are on.  But that is your concern, not mine.
And to the next post, do you realize that Mexican immigration to your country has dipped to the negative level.  Even they don't want to be there anymore.  The hysteria and fear is a typical device of the right to alarm your citizenry about a problem that doesn't exist anymore.

Gassy, can you try and write a post without insult.  It will only get you flagged and the post removed.  You are beneath civility and your lies are building up into a huge pile of, well, you know.

I don't engage in "vendetta flagging".  Just noticing how many of your posts are now disappearing and finding that so hopeful.  You might want to try and be more concise with your postings, because no one is going to read all that bullshit.  And remember - the sands in the hourglass are quickly running down.
Soupie, I have not been ignoring you for the last 23 hours (You posted the above 23 hours ago). I have been busy living a normal life. By the time you answer this I will again be off to my real life. Be back in 24 hours or so. Continue on with your  nonsense.

How nice of you.  I believe that you need an attitude adjustment yourself.  And I don't think we need you visiting our country, thank you very much.  I have nothing against the U.S. or any other country.  But I do have a problem with purposely ignorant people.

And if you seriously believe that American tourists are the linchpin of the Canadian economy, you are truly deluded.  We are a resource based economy and you folks want and need it badly.  Our dirty oil, our fresh water, just about everything.  And our conservative government is anxious to sell it to you.  So pretend to be grateful.
