So I have been rolling something around in my head that I want to throw out there. First let me tell you all about me (Tim). Marine for 8 years. I think very logical and something that really tweaks me is when people use things the wrong way. For example, clothes are meant to protect you. From the sun, dangers at work an so on. At least that is how I see it.
Enough about me. So my idea about getting around the law is to create a religion, I do not know a whole lot about how to do it but I have googled it and found it may actually be pretty easy. Something as simple and worshipping the Christian god but believing that god wanted to us to be nude rather they eat from the tree of knowledge and cover our selves. If I understand my rights, and I may very well not. Would then freedom of religion give us the right to be nude anywhere?
Also just a side note, I think that nude protests about things other then nudist rights is offensive.

If anyone joins a nude protest be sure it is in a city with a large jail. It is going to get crowded fast.
Nope.  The way around the law is to pass a new one threw both houses of congress.  Why doesn't someone propose one instead of holding the country hostage to stop one.
If you want to drift into a different topic, start a new thread and I'll smoke you on the facts as I usually do. (hint:-Conservatives DID propose better laws-it's Harry Reid-1 man that controls what the Senate will consider-and he is the man who told a CNN reporter that he doesn't care about allowing kids with cancer to be treated; he cares more about winning the political battle than saving one child with cancer-much like the HHS secretary who denied a child the ability to receive a life saving lung transplant. The thought that Democrats in power care about kids is ludicrous, except to the extent that they can use them for political, social and medical manipulation.)

    Yes- back to the thread-Religion.
Catholicism is the way. The teaching of the Church-of Christ--anyone interested in it-on any issue-can refer to the Catechism for starters. It's the policy manual, so to speak for Catholics. It's hard to argue with the positions; for example, the Death Penalty- I personally prefer it, but I reluctantly defer to the Church's position because it is consistent with the principles of Life.
Many people condemn Catholicism for the perceived condemnation of sinners, when in fact, the Church condemns sin and preaches forgiveness and the continuous and imperfect pursuit away from sin. Another example is Homosexuality-the Church preaches that gays should be treated with the same Love and dignity as anyone else.Regarding nudity---not sure if it is addressed in the Catechism---but nudity itself is wholesome, but sin connected with it is not---this is very much consistent with the principles of nudism.
Ok, there you go. Batten down the hatches folks....it may get a bit stormy in here.

Oh Brucie, you're the one who hijacked the thread by taking it from a discussion of a nudist religion to one of your patented screeds against Obama.  Your lack of self-awareness is staggering.  Can you not even acknowledge what you do?  Man up.

Now, let us return to the discussion at hand... Rules and laws covering the religious freedoms. All religions!

Nothing wrong with that-there are many people who have the wrong impression of it-I was merely pointing out some truth about it. So, you're ok with religious freedom-just not Catholic Religious freedom?

I did't actually start this thread to talk about any current religions, more to ask the question, if a religion was started where nudity was a way of life would the laws that restrict nudism apply to those who follow that religion. I recall a court case about polygamy that the defendant lost even though it was his religious belief. (Recall from research as I believe it happened in the late 1800s.

A few years back a polygamist was sent for a long stay at the expense of the government. They didn't convict him for his many wives and 40 some kids. They convicted him for fraud because he falsified forms for getting his wives and kids on welfare. In this case the government did not argue the merits of multiple marriages.

How many true believers do you think you could come up with? An internet church, home worshippers? how do you see the religious removal of clothing? Like most things the devil is in the detail.

The removal of clothes is something ive been arguing since I was little. When I was 4 and first told the story of adam an eve. I immediately ask, then doesnt that mean we should all take our clothes off since that is what god wanted. Never really have hit a competent reason why not.

If you take the bible literally, which, unfortunately, too many people do, part of the expulsion and punishment from the garden of Eden was shame and the need to cover up the body.

The downside of what you are suggesting is that you will help to nurture the notion that nudists are a few bricks shy of a full load. You even said that you don't like to see people use things for reasons other than their purpose. Well, that can be applied to what you suggest. With all due respect, religion is for the soul, or the spirit-however you want to phrase it. Not to skirt textile laws.  If you want to be nude anywhere, I am very much sympathetic; maybe you should look into living in a nudist community. There are many you can find both in the USA and abroad. Good luck.

Your personal definition of religion of course.  Others would argue that religion is the "opiate of the masses" and created to control and oppress people.

You're always good for a snicker, there Soupster. Blinded by hatred and rage. But when I think about your words, I really do pity you. God Bless you. I hope someday you find a way to let go of all that tortures your soul.

BTW-the opiate of the masses of our day is now selfishness and greed as promoted by liberals in media, government, and academia. If you care to have a reasoned discussion about it, start a new thread, my friend. I'll defeat you (again) there. Free of insults and vulgarity of course.

I really do feel sorry for you Brucie.  Good for a cry, not a snicker.  Such a bad example of a so-called christian.  Missing the most basic tenets of humility and contrition.  You could not even take responsibility for derailing the thread with your own hatred and rage.  It's time that you got over an election and found a life.

Start a thread on the subject, Chuckles. Do it without insult. I'll defeat you there. I'm not gonna contribute to your dragging this thread into a continued discussion about the least competent, most hateful and most racist president in US history.

The religion of nudism would not allow you to offend others  out in public but it would allow a place like a campground to be created
