AANR plans to coordinate skinny-dipping events at participating clubs and nude beaches in appropriate settings throughout North America on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Nudist Time, to coordinate with Nude Recreation Week.
This event will focus the attention of the world on the joys of wholesome, happy skinny-dipping as an American tradition proudly supported by AANR and recognized by the Guinness World Records™ Company.
The AANR World Record Skinny-Dip will help unite AANR members and skinny-dippers into one big community across North America. Watch this page for news and updates.
Help us beat our own record on July 10 by participating at a location near you!

I only have one regret from the 2009 Record Skinny Dip. When I went to purchase the commemorative tee shirt, they were all sold out. I would have worn it proudly and told anyone who commented that they had missed a great time.
I’ll be first in line this year.

I will be participating at Avalon this year.  The agenda of the CNC gathering includes the skinny dip.

Right now it's only at $8.  The auction is over Sept. 11th.   My club is selling this year's tshirt at $13.   AANR and other clubs are selling at $15.  Let me know, and I'll put one aside for you. :)CHeri
BVR. It will be the second time in my life when I've been in a pool. The first was a wading pool 60+ years ago. Oh well. If I drown, there will be a lotta folks to drag me out.
It is essential to be included in the Official Count before being dragged from the pool.

Very positive and well written article.  We need more if the same in mainline media to get the message out that we are not nuts, perverts, gawkers or exhibitionists.

I’m happy to report that all reactions were positive among the readers. The reactions ranged from, “ Wow , I’ve got to be there” to “ Is this for real and where is Ocean Isle Beach?  I also , heard a comment, “Is this legal? I assured everyone that it was legal and was vocal in telling everyone what a great time it was last year and that it may be the only chance they would ever have to be in the Guinness World Book of Records..    Though, my  quote in the  final paragraph was taken somewhat out of context, this was a very positive article for nudism. What I said was, “ getting into nudism is like a plunge into a cool pool, a bit of a shock at first, but once in, it feels good. .”Try it you will like it”.   This article is exactly the type of media coverage that we need to be accepted by the general populous  I sent the writer a congratulatory e-mail on a fine article with the wish that follow up  coverage would be forthcoming after the event

The predicted weather here may not be favorable for a huge turnout so the sunny areas of the country will have help us out in breaking the record set last year. Only lightning strikes will keep me out of the pool tomorrow. Call me a coward, if you will, but I don't do lightning.

Call me a coward, if you will, but I don't do lightning.
The predicted thunderstorms did, indeed roll through, fortunately, about one hour after the official count was taken. While the count at Whispering Pines fell far short of 2009, I’m sure the ominous weather predictions were a major factor. The staff and volunteers are to be commended for a well organized event from parking through registration and food service. A wonderful time was had by all in attendance.   It was obvious from the tan lines or lack of any tan that many were experiencing social nudism for the first time, at least for this season. Hopefully, they will be back to join our ranks

My first social nude experience was the 2009 skinnydip event at the Turtle Lake Resort,  I'm so glad they had that special promotional event or I may never gotten around to trying a nude resort.  Spent the 2010 skinnydip at the Forest Hill Club and am saddened that they aren't planning to do it again this year as it was a great way to get first timers out to learn what they had been missing.

Maybe they'll re-state it next year. Travelites will be joined by North Carolina Naturists and Triangle Area Naturists on the annual canude trip during which we stopped at the appropriate time to take the photo.  We'll be taking our 15th canude trip July 9, 2011

I hope that AANR re-instates this. We got great media coverage. I believe that the number of participants could be increased if this event was held on a Sunday rather than a Saturday.

I'm also disappointed that they cancelled.
Might have got my lady to go to that, but otherwise doesn't look real promising.
The skinny dip record had more promotional value than perhaps they realize ?
