Oct 15, 2013I have noticed in the last ten years or so.. (maybe it has always been the case.. i just never noticed it?) of covert type swinging at Nudist resorts. Maybe the signs have been there all along but i never caught on? Couples or singles recognizing others with similar likes in the group and meeting for 'lunch' or 'dinner' back at their room or such.. to me nudists were about nature and were generally unshaven and tended toward a more natural look and weren't really into the piercings and waxing and chic look. With couples the female is usually the one to be sent out to establish a rapport and make subtle suggestions of the pursued couple or single. This is only one of the many subtle signs about what is going on behind the scenes.. Ten years ago i was ignorant to the whole thing and having been educated on the subject i am seeing it at every nudist area that i go to. Its like if there are twenty couples around a pool it would seem that at least six of the couples are open to suggestion and even looking for the subtle invite. I suppose we are all adults and what happens behind closed doors is nobody's business. I am just saying that the curtain has been pulled and the wizard is having sex. Now when i read a promo for a Nudist Resort and it says stuff about no swinging or stuff going on I know that is just not true.

It appears one cant be a Nudist and a swinger or for that a full time Nudist who swings on the odd occasion. Also does that mean one cant be Gay and a nudist, or follow a religion and be a nudist too. Why Some people have such a narrow vision of life is mind boggling.
Too each there own life is what they desire, this forum should be a place of idea interchange not persecution of another's ideals or life style.. All that we should ask is don't slap us in the face with your ideology.
The main problem with this world today is people cannot allow others to follow their own beliefs in freedom and without criticism, like Muslims and Christians, etc

Are you saying we should forget about nudist ethos in favour of dialogue? With the utmost respect, why can naked people not respect the ideals of nudism?

[/quote]I know a number of NUDISTS who do respect the ideals of nudism and act accordingly when in company of other nudists, but out of the spotlight they are swingers.
I think your view on life is too narrow minded as Nudism is only one part of a nudists life style Rene, as I am sure you have other interests in life as well as being a nudist.
I am not for all out open sexuality or copulating in public, or for that matter viewing the sexual explicit photos so often portrayed as healthy nudist activity here on TN, but what is done behind closed doors is no bodies business except that of those behind the closed doors.

But I have noticed since coming here that the definition of a nudist is fairly well established, with at least a strong minority that sees some sexuality in it. There are some who require a litmus test to determine if one is truly a nudist, and to an extent that is unfair. Or at least too strict.
But swinging goes on a lot in the textile world, too. I can't measure the ratio compared to nudist venues from on-site experience, but I'm inclined to believe it is fairly well balanced between the two with a small margin favoring 'purity' if you will, in the nudist world. I think that may be because of the heightened sensitivity to sexuality in nudism-the resort owners and the non-swinging majority is on alert.
My comparison doesn't include certain aspects of the textile world-just those aspects where there is a lot of social interaction among couples. And of course, it removes the swinger world as well. Though, I think there are plenty of geographic and cultural aspects to consider, too.

Can a person be a nudist, and a race car driver, mountain climber, or a swinger, yes, But they are not the same. If you go to a resort, beach, or nudist social event looking to swing your not a nudist, your going to sexual reasons, not to be with other nudists.
As to the Holier than thou attitude, well I love to check the profile of people who claim others are holier then thou, funny, most have only female friends on their list, most do not have wives that are nudists with them, and most have never been to a resort, beach, or any other social nudist event, so YES, compared to them I am a expert, and if you wish, holier then thou.
Before someone tries telling others how sex and nudism belong together get off you butts and go to a few Nudist Events. Yes, there are swinger resorts, and they are called that, and known by that name, they are not known as nudist resorts.
Are there nudists that swing? Yes, the difference is they don't go to nudist sites, or events, or resorts, or beachs, looking to swing, they go there to be nudists. I personally do not care what adults do behind closed doors, but I do care what they do in social nudist settings, and how they portray nudism to others.
As to this site, if you believe sex and nudism belong together, or your looking for swinging , head on over to True Swingers, that what that site was created for, for swingers. And if a nudist camp/resort/party decides to allow more open sexual activity, chances are it is because their patrons have asked for it...so it is a business decision...they know that to stay competitive they have to give the people what they want. And since most nudist places in this country are not the most profitable of businesses, they have to do what they can to keep their clientele and attract new ones.
As long as it is clear when & where more adult rules are in place so that people with kids and people who dont want to see/participate that kind of thing can avoid it, then what is the problem?

fot that reason I call my self a professional not an expertReactReply - MAmako09Dec 1, 2013My wife and I have visited nudist resorts for the past 10 years and every time there is always at least one couple that we meet who may be looking for more than conversation, but never have we ever felt threatened or uncomfortable and we were aware if there intent. All we do is tell them that we are a committed couple and are not interested in anything but enjoying our nudist lifestyle, and this will send the point across that we are not interested. But I have also noticed at resorts who allow singles that this is more common that those who don't and also there are more men who seem to camp out in the pool in direct line with my wife's lounge chair to get a better look.ReactReply

In fact, we've never been to a resort that didn't have some kind of swinging element among the guests.
That being said, we've found the same thing to be true at "regular" or "textile" resorts and most nightclubs. People who are on vacation tend to drop hints. If you catch on and are interested, you say "Okay." If you don't catch on or are not interested, you ignore the hint or make a joke, and they move on to other prospects. ArthurDec 9, 2013I agree,we have been members of Clubs since the 1950's and it was there then. You just ignorned it ao joined in, but it is and will always be with us. It is just human nature at work.

Anytime we have been to a nude resort, we have seen cliques of people who are subtly inquiring...we have always declined, and there have never been any issues. In every walk of life, there are a mix of interests and motivations. Too each their own.

Ross AngusMay 28, 2014I have been to CO and naturist beaches since the early 80's. There have always been "cruisers", generally male and single, who do little but walk up and down the beach looking for "contacts". Occasionally there are female groups, male/female couples doing the "cruising" as we have as well but that was just to get a little exercise after the strenuous sun-bathing...
Never been approached by anyone - possibly because we are a couple - though we have chatted with other couples on a few occasions as people.ReactReply - RA
ravensflyinnowMay 28, 2014I like to play volleyball. I like to be naked. When I go to a nudist resort, I like play to volleyball there. I seek out members I have played with before, I look for new people that are good, to be on my team. I can go to the local beach to play pickup games, but it's a textile beach, and I would rather spend a day in the sun, naked with others that like to play. Some days, I only play volleyball, I come to the court, I take my clothes off, but I don't even think about being nude, I get a game started and play all day, being nude doesn't even cross my mind... I'm only there to play. Am I a true nudist, or am I just a volleyball player? I believe I'm both. Days when there's nobody to play with..... I read a book. I've been known to sneak off to someone's room for a game of chess too..... Don't label me a chess player though!ReactReply
