I finally decided to go for it and buy an IPL hair remover from Amazon to permanently remove my pubic hair. I always shave it, but it grows back so fast and gets stubbly within a day. So I want that hair gone for good. I just received the IPL device today and before I start zapping away at my pubic area, I want to be sure that I won't regret it later. I, personally, really want the hair gone for good; that is my personal preference. I like the way it looks and feels and I hate the way pubic hair looks and feels on me. So getting rid of it seems like a no brainer decision. However, I'm mostly worried about what other people will think. Will girls think it's weird? If I shower at a men's locker room, would they think it's weird? If I visit the doctor, will he think it's weird and/or say anything?
All those questions are running through my head. So it really all comes down to worrying about what other people will think of it. I could personally love my bald pubic area, but if the rest of the world is going to think it's weird, I don't think I would be too happy about that.
So for those of you guys out there that did it and got their pubes removed permanently, whether it be laser, IPL or electrolysis, please tell me.... do you have any regrets? Does anyone say negative things or poke fun at you for it?

I wasn't expecting to be completely bald after a couple of week, but I was expecting to START seeing a *little* hair reduction. It's literally the exact same as it was two weeks ago. I know a couple women who used this and after a week, hair started thinning. With me, absolutely no thinning whatsoever.

I have being shaving my cock and balls for over 40 years now and have been to swimming pools and nude beachs and doctors office and never had offensive remarks from any actually was asked by my doctor why I shaved and I told her because I liked the feel and look of the smooth and she said okay and that was it.

They told me they try to use the wrist but if not possible they go through the groin so they need to shave me, when they pulled the sheet back, he noticed I am shaved and said, that saves time.

I shaved for many years. Never a comment from Drs or nurses. Three years ago I got waxed. A little painful, but I really liked not having to shave daily. Because of waxing, I'm nearly bald. Wife likes it, and it's nearly painless. My esthecian is not afraid to touch my penis, as some I've been to seem to be. In fact, she said I stayed hard longer than most of her 30 yr olds. When I asked if she gave discounts for smaller sizes, she just laughed and said I wouldn't get one. I walked out feeling pretty good about my stuff, till I later looked in the mirror. DonMar 23, 2021Back when I worked for Halliburton and needed to have a physical (due to the fact that we were all class A drivers), the doctor asked me how it was that I was so smooth. And I simply replied that I used a shaver called a clean cut. As far as any regrets, none. The only thing I regret is wasting several thousands of dollars on laser which did NOT work, and not spending the time with an electrolysis specialist to get it all permanently removed.

In reference to the original post, the only time I was a bit nervous was when my three nephews were young and I was visiting during Christmas and they all invited me to go swimming at their local YMCA that had an indoor waterpark. It really did not dawn on me what my predicament might be until we started to change in the locker room, and I saw that their father had a bushy wildebeest between his legs and thought that my three nephews might see my smoothness as weird. So in a moment of weakness, I did turn away as I lowered my jeans (I always went commando no matter how cold it is) and then slipped on my suit. Oh well.

It is highly dependant on your skin tone and hair color. The darker your skin and the lighter your hair, the less effective it will be.
The device you bought is a low power, cheapo. I have used the Tria System (which is a mid-range device), and have had very noticeable results with very inconsistant use, plus I only get 3, maybe 4 treatments each year waiting on the tan to fade enough to use it. It cost $300 in 2012. The most current version is $450. You went cheap, you got cheap. I suspect if you use it long enough, you will start to see results, just at a much slower pace than a higher end system.
As for the amazon reviews, you only looked at the 5 star ones that maybe are self-promotion. Click on the one-star reviews (many of which are very current) and you get a much different picture.

CraigApr 3, 2021I have shaved my pubic hair in different ways for many many years. Sometimes I get rid of it all and sometimes I let it grow in above my penis. My ball on the other hand have been shaved clean for as long as I can remember.
My GF shaves her in different ways as well. Sometimes a landing strip, or bald or full bush up top. I prefer her lip area to be clean but I do like the look of pubic hair above her vagina.

My Tria is 20 joules at it's highest setting. The difference is the zap area. The one you got appears to be approximately 2cm by 4cm (I'm guessing here based on the pictures) for a total of 8cm(2). My Tria's zap area is 1cm(2), concentrating the power in a much smaller area. Contrary to what their sales pitch says, if you don't feel the zap (akin to a rubber band snapping on your skin, but pain only lasts a split second), it's not working (or you have no hair there). Try zapping the same spot for several zaps and see if you feel it. If you're not feeling it, it's not working. Many of the reviews had this complaint, everything lit up and appeared to be functioning, but no actual 'zap' was occuring. Also, you cannot do any hair removal method prior to using it other than plain old shaving. If you are using any chemical method or epilator method, it won't work as the hair is below the skin line (or gone altogether). Yeah I feel a rubber band snapping. Most of the time, its very strong heat, but I do feel the snap every now and then.
The instructions on this device is rather vague, but I think Im supposed to zap the treated area three times per session. I was only doing it once, so maybe that was my problem.

CoR YYCApr 5, 2021If it helps, the instructions on my device recommended shaving and exfoliating, waiting 24 hours, and then zapping. It seems to like about 1 or 2 mm of stubble. Not too short, and not too long. The instructions warn against using on hairs longer than 4 or 5 mm as apparently that can lead to burns. I use mine mostly on level 5 with auto-repeat, and lift it off between zaps to let the glass cool. I think the trick was to do three passes per session, not one, which is what I was originally doing. And I notice if I press down firmly, I feel the zap more. The rubber band snap is more intense that way. Before, I was only pressing down lightly, which seemed to reduce the intensity since the snap felt lighter. So we shall see how things progress.
I'm so nervous what my doctor is going to think on my next visit when he suddenly sees that I have no pubic hair. It's going to be a bit nerve-wracking. But on the plus side, I still won't be seeing him for a while. I'm still uneasy about going to the doctor for non-emergency visits during this pandemic. Here's an interesting story. It seems like there are some results on my pubic area, but VERY sloooow! So, a couple of weeks ago, I tried it on my underarms. I did it about two treatments per week and it's about two full weeks of treating the armpits. And right now, I have significantly less hair growth there. So strange! This device is working wonders on my underarms and results are showing very quickly, but on the pubes, the results are extremely slow.

Ok, I give up on this stupid IPL device. Notice a little less hair regrowth, but it plateaued and no further results are showing. I keep shooting the area regularly and still having lots of regrowth. Hard to believe I've used this device a few times per week for three months and still not much difference. I'm not sure why it's not working like it should. The IPL device really snaps and hurts the area when I shoot it. I feel the very warm heat along with the snap. But still get lots of hair regrowth. Either I may have to invest in a better IPL device or may have to consider waxing. Not sure I'll do either since it'll just cost me more money. And to pay money for another possible dud device or to pay $80 for waxing, which would literally only give me 1-2 weeks of smoothness, is not worth the cost. Probably might just have to stick to shaving.
