if this has been discussed before i apologize,  but I have not seen it since I have been here.   So there might beothers new to the website.
Being nudist we are obviously comfortable with being seen nude, but what is your comfort level of taking a leakor even a dump in a bathroom in the view of others?  I go up to Turtle Lake and I admit the first time I went into the 'men's' room to find a woman standing at the sinkwhile I took a piss at the urinal was a bit of a surprise.    It no longer phases me to piss ,  but am still glad thatthe stalls have doors when i sit for number two.
How do others feel about natural body functions of relieving yourself in the company of other guys or women?
thanks
With the zealousness of a recent convert to nudism, I feel that mental and physical openness in a nudist environment is what attracts me most to the lifestyle. I encompass natural bodily functions as part of that openness.
I speak as someone new to the lifestyle so I the charge of 'easy for you to say' is perfectly valid. If I have to go for a #2 when in sight of other nudists I might have second thoughts, I hope not.
I also accept that others may feel very differently and, as in all things, no one  should be forced into a situation which they feel uncomfortable. Public gatherings should take account that some nudists prefer privacy, and respect those wishes.
Would you take a crap in front of your non-nudist neighbor?

While our society imprints on us that there is something fundamentally wrong with public nudity I think it is probably the design of our bathrooms and public restrooms which causes people to feel the need for privacy when they urinate and defecate, especially the latter.

From the time as young children when we are first able to manage without help using the toilet, we are almost always hidden from the view of others when we eliminate our waste. As with textiles who have a compulsion to avoid exposing their so-called private parts in public, almost everyone has a similar compulsion to seek privacy when using the toilet. There is actually no good reason for it, just like there is no good reason to wear clothes when they aren't needed for protection or comfort. Being exposed to public view in either case is entirely painless. No one is interested in seeing what others do in the restroom. After all we all do essentially the same thing.

A few years ago while on a nude raft trip through Grand Canyon our group of 32 (which included three textile boatmen, one was a woman) camped for the night at a rather small campsite. It was customary for our boatmen to set up portable toilets some distance from the campsite, one upstream and one downstream, to afford some privacy. On this occasion because of the limited space one of the portable toilets was set up in the midst of the campsite. My observation revealed that it was used about as much as the other, which was located out of sight of the camp. I used it myself. I must admit that it was a little unnerving at first, but it was similar to disrobing for the first time in public. No one paid any attention. The discomfort one expects in such a situation is a figment of their imagination.

Seriously, who came up with the idea of putting those walls between urinals?  The didn't exist years ago and I don't remember anyone complaining (except one friend who said he had a shy bladder).  In the Louisiana Superdome there are troughs and I don't recall anyone freaking out.  That goes for many older establishments.  I wish I knew where the walls DIDN'T exist.  LOL

Amen on that military comment! I have removed our master bathroom doors in the last two homes we owned. We are fine with our nude bodies and bodily functions around each other. Yes, she still gives me hell about the smell though! ;)
I don't care if I have to "P", but I still like my privacy for the other matter, I am that way at home as well.  As much as they are normal bodily functions, I like my privacy to evacuate my bowels and fart, it could be I don't want others to smell the roses that evacuation can produce.
I agree,  I don't care if we share bathrooms with the girls, but when I sit down, I want my privacy. i've always been that way. I even tell the dog to get the heck out when I want to be alone.
Have you tried the french highways truck stop wc? It's just a hole (with plates of course) in the floor... So if you have to do n2 you must be careful not to shit your pants... They have doors and all the stuff, but the standing bending position just to avoid accidents are soooooo Uncomfortable... In Switzerland it's the same. Urinals are together (as always) and the locked cabins for privacy have holes in the floor too... And the funny thing is for women it's the same!
That's the French for you. That's why they created Belgium, except for having the best cooks and brewers in Europe. It was to keep the French at bay from the more civilized, well, the rest of Europe.
I was house sitting and the dog hung out in the bathrooms alot...she liked the cool tile floor. I always kicked her out when I needed to sit and take care of biz. I like my privacy when I'm pinching a loaf.
Right on.
